Hating is dumb. Im not into it. Westbrook is a good player. Harden is a good player. If I had a vote id vote harden for mvp but who really cares. Dont like being a whiney sour grapes fan. At this point we should focus on the rockets beating the thunder in the playoffs. Rooting for okc role players to get confidence and win is very counter productive to our goals as rockets fans. Do you really want the thunder players to get in a groove and play well without brook just because it would spite the national media narrative that his teammates suck?
If you are a rockets fan then you are not cheering for our 1st round opponent to look good and gain a rythym going into the playoffs. You are not cheering for oladipo and adams to go off. This is ridiculous. Does media narrative matter that much to the point where you start cheering for our 1st round opponent? Damn I wish westbrooks team got blown out tonight without him. I want his teammates to suck. Definitely question your priorities as a rockets fan
They're barely going to get touches anyway. You don't just flip a switch and turnoff a 42% usage rate and start playing selfless. Russ will continue to chuck like he always has.
I agree. I also think we will win. Stil think it is weird for rockets fans to root for our 1st round opponent. We dont want adams, oladipo and crew to play well
OKC hasn't beat us with Beverley on the floor. We make our shots, we will win. This was more of a circus event for me, like the Romo game.
Happens all the time though. Star player is injured / traded, / rested or whatever, the rest of the guys play well. At least for a game or two. There should be a name for this phenomenon.
I saw the pre game warm ups and he didn't look too terrible lol. Had some good crossovers for a guy with a cracked back haha
im not surprised. he is a pro athlete who's pretty coordinated and skilled. I heard some people say he could really handle the ball in the warmups lol
There is a name for it. It's the Ewing Theory. It is the situation when a team picks up their play temporairly in the absence of a star player, such as what happened tonight with Westbrook, or with the Rockets when Harden sat. http://grantland.com/features/ewing-theory-revisited/ A pretty infamous (locally, at least) example of this recently for the Rockets was the '14-'15 season where the Rockets when 27-13 (something like this) without Dwight Howard, but anybody that watched the playoffs clearly would know that we would have been a significantly weaker team without him.
The Thunder average 21 assists a game this season when Westbrick is playing, without him tonight they got 22 and the win. IMO there's not much question that Westbrick does nothing to make his teammates better and in many ways he makes them worse.
Lol people like you act like Westbrook asked Durant to leave. No, he did not. Durant left on his own and wanted to chase for the title without having to worry. WB did not ask for this role. He was thrown into this situation. The team has good big men. Everyone knew. They were the Western Conference Finalist last year. I think their first half of the season was bad because the other role players were adjusting to the situation.
