Worse than the Lin-Harden pairing. Never again.

One of my least favorite players in the league.

But never the less he would take off pressure of Harden to be the sole playmaker.

Lawson is REALLY REALLY GOOD, at least on offense, when motivated.

The reports made him sound like a total malcontent and team cancer during the whole post-George Karl era-- but that's why he is even available. I'd definitely take Lawson if the price is right.

Completely underrated player and an ideal Morey target.

The Rockets do need a second ballhandler but not at the cost of defense.

Maybe his interest in the Mavs isn't that strong. He was responding to a fan's question. It would have been interesting to see how he would responded to a Rockets fan's request.

Yes, he has talked smack about Harden's poor defense, but that was a long time ago.

Harden has improved on defense, Lawson hasn't. That is ok, we could benefit a lot from his speed and passing/scoring. He might get back to getting steals, in the earlier part of his career.

If he can overcome some of his red flags, I would be interested in him provided the Rockets don't have to give up too much for him.

Lawson, when not actively trying to sabotage the coach, is not worse a defender than Terry and Prigioni. He is below average (nothing is gonna make him grow an inch or two), but not destructively bad.

    Off the bench?

The dude averaged 9.6 assist this season, with only 2.5 turnovers. That's amazing.

To play 75 games, 35+ minutes, drop 10 dimes and 15+ points per game with only 2.5 turnovers. He's also a career 37% 3pt shooter, and draws fouls at a nice rate (like 5 FT attempts per).

I'd do Jones OR Motiejunas + draft picks (Pelicans) and other fillers / small assets for Lawson. He'd be a nice pickup, would take us to the next level where i'd feel confident in taking on the Clippers/Spurs/Grizzles and maybe even the Warriors.

^Off the bench only because I feel like Harden NEEDS a primary defender as his running mate.

I agree he has put up excellent numbers and I love his ability to get to the cup. His "red flags" seem overblown also. Of course, I'd be happy to gamble with him in the starting lineup considering his talent.

He's on a solid contract, btw

~$25m over the next 2 yrs

Morey, do whatever it takes and get this guy. Lawson would go off for a couple of 20 points and 10 assists, with the way the Clippers are clogging the lane.

I still don't like the fit next to Harden.
However his contract is a bargain in this new market and he is one of the most underrated PGs.
The Kings will be all over it. Probably will cost them their 6th pick.

I would love Ty Lawson on this team. I love Patrick Beverley and would never forget the fun we have had with him. If Patrick came off the bench with Ty as the starter I could see this team literally being unstoppable....LITERALLY BEING UNSTOPPABLE.

Patrick would be a Reggie Jackson caliber player off the bench. Mark it.

Brewer and Smith coming off the bench along side Beverley? You're looking at one of the greatest second squad trios in the history of the NBA.

    Starters:
    Harden
    Howard
Jones or Dmo (one would be traded)
    Ariza
    Lawson

    Bench:
    Brewer
    Smith
    Beverley
    Capela
    Terry

That bench ALONE could make the East playoffs easily. That bench could give us a 10-15 point advantage in virtually every game.
