Lawson Bev Terry Harden Thorton McDaniels Howard Campella Tjones DMo Harell Ariza Brewer Dekker We have 14 legit NBA players. Heck Thorton averaged 20ppg in a season and who knows if he will even play. Even if the rockets are not healthy all year they should be pretty good just because of their depth. The biggest problem might be keeping everyone happy with minutes.
Last night my buddy was saying that he wishes the bench would be playing last night. I had to remind him that that was the bench playing towards the end of the 3rd quarter. So deep it looks like we have starters on the floor at all times.
Dekker and Harrell haven't shown me that much yet, so we are already down to 12 "legit NBA players" (maybe they should play in an NBA game before we proclaim them legit NBA players). Terry will hardly play, unless there are injuries. Let's wait and see.
True we are deep. DMo needs to be healthy so he can sure up that power forward spot because Jones is too undersized and weak to go against the star power forwards of the west. Harrell just needs to develop which he is doing. Another thing is we need to find a way to not be stagnant on offense if our shots are off find a way to move the ball effectively to get easier shots. Defense just needs to be elite and for that to be we have to focus on being great on D. Morey has done his job now it's time for Mchale and the players to live up to the talent and skills of this deep roster.
Harrell and Dekker will only get playing time in garbage minutes. Terry will get spot minutes when we go small or need outside shooting. McDaniels will play injury minutes. I'd say we're truly 10 rotational players. More likely 9 as someone will be out with injuries. We're still overall more talented than years before.
The Spurs be like: We're 5 rings deep and can't even get pub for the deepest roster. #sadoldmanriverwalk
I don't like that 4 spot. Particularly when the inevitable Howard injury leaves us 1 deep at the 5. But I'll admit, that's not a bad problem to have as your #1 problem. Lawson makes the situation at the 1 a heck of a lot better than it used to be. My gut says some of these "rotation" guys are going into a Morey package to attempt to fix the 4.
What do people mean when they say we have a problem at 4? Jones or DMo? Which one is a problem? Be specific.
McDaniels, Dekker don't belong. Terry, Harell are emergency backup, 3rd string Thorton is questionable Bev might become questionable I said they have 9 with 1 questionable. Our PF starter isn't that pretty either. I would hope that McHale think and prepare for playing both centers at the C & PF position in the playoff.
2nd round versus the clippers. T. Jones was a issue and Josh Smith solved it. DMo is a unknown in the playoffs at this point.
but one of the worst coaches in the league who will not be able to fully maximize the best roster in the league by far.
Rockets are deep. We can withstand injuries enough for a top 3 seed, with our depth. DMO needs to get healthy. Dwight too, but he should average <30mpg until the playoffs. Capella's emergence is huge. The Rockets' firepower is nice. Two extra playmakers vs last year and better 3PT shooters.
