Definitely true regarding defense although Arizas not great there anymore either.

Also situationally we’ve seen their offense fail.

We’ll see what happens with CP3. I do not expect Harden to turn into a traditional SG by any measure. Which of your hypothesis regarding him as the primary point guard in the playoffs is true is problematic. He’s effectively been the PG of this team for a number of years.

My hypothesis is he is the de facto PG and likely will continue to be when he’s on the court and that’s a ok if he has a wing creator next to him.

    OG Anobody

I know, it's hard to remember anobody, even if they did just play us last night and guarded Harden.

Another reason they are hard to find is they are in high demand. The way everyone is now playing switching defense, typically an athletic forward can guard all positions, which is in very high demand.

    Anunoby = Awannabe = 8' wingspan

I recall Kobe fans arguing MJ rarely played against long, athletic defenders like Kobe had to. Never really researched, but there seems to be longer guys now vs 90's.

Please name the player/s we could replace Ariza with. Start with guys that teams would be willing to let walk, and then also please suggest a trade package that is reasonable?

As much as it is 'cool' to say 'we need to replace Ariza', it is a heck of a lot harder to replace him than you think. Needs to be a defensive stopper, and needs to be able to shoot the 3 at least as well as Ariza, and then, needs to be able to get his own shot as well? Who are we talking about here? Paul George?

I think morey, harden, me and everyone would want an elite 2 way SF.

The problem is there are none out there to pay or acquire. The ones that become available we have tried and failed.

George was available, we had interest and tried but ultimately came up short in trade.

Hayward was a free agent, again we were interested with hopes of teaming him and co3 together. Ultimately we went with for sure deal and traded for cp3 and we were always outside looking in on Hayward.

Igoudala was our main offseason target and we almost secured him, he canceled all other visits, before ultimately forcing gsw to offer a guaranteed 4th year.

So that brings us to present day going forward.

Only a coupl names possible within the next year l.

Lebron, which I'm positive we will go balls to the wall to try and convince to come here.

Pg13, who may be traded at deadline if okc is disastrous or will become a free agent. In which, can we even convince him to not fulfill his ultimate childhood dream of playing for the lakers?

Can we somehow acquire a middle tier guy like Tobias, Batum, Barnes, Ingles? Will they ever be available and at a prospect cost we could afford?

    I doubt it.

Outside of Lebron super teaming it up here it's just extremely hard to upgrade the 3 spot. And that's something we DID by bringing in tucker and moute to add to ariza.
