    The war of attrition.

Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni pulled out all the stops to even Houston’s series against the Warriors at 2-2 on Tuesday. He cut his rotation to seven players, with the seventh (Gerald Green) playing only 12 minutes. There’s no margin for error in a series between two elite teams that can attack weak spots anywhere in a lineup. The Rockets and the Warriors have been taking turns picking on each other’s worst players, so the obvious adjustment is to not play them. As the circle of trust gets smaller, the more avoiding fatigue and injury becomes crucial. The Rockets have turned the Western Conference finals into a war of attrition.

This is the only thing that worries me. Fatigue.

They run away more on offense, so switching should mean that we use less energy. That should mean that they are more fatigued, correct?
which means advantage us, especially late game.

Luc at the VERY least needs to get some minutes tonight.

Luc is playing at home. He should feel much more comfortable. I predict he will play and play well.

Yeah I hope so. Just one extra body can do wonders for fatigue.

He deserves a shot. If he misses a point blank layup, then yank him out. But his minutes could be valuable.

This. I think if we go up by 6 or 8 we can put him in for 3-4 minutes.

I think we can also play him if we are trailing by no more than 6 points, just to expand our rotation a bit.

so this is why d'antonio played harden and cp3 during blowouts and played ariza 40 minutes per game during the regular season.

to condition them for this series

See, this seems contradictory to me. They avg. less mins per game than most other stars in the reg season (might be an old stat), to keep them healthy.

Good read, but the author equated GG with Swaggy. GG hoisted some bone head shots, but he made one really big 3 and his defense was great in his 12 minutes. GG was a +14 while Swaggy was in the negatives. GG's defense and enthusiasm at least makes him playable.
