his role hasn't been any different than before. and he's struggling. that's the big problem. he's not in a good place right now on the floor and it looks like his confidence took a hit. definitely isn't about needing shots or involvement. it's not like his minutes were taken away either

Morey may have been unwilling to give up TWO first rounders (and players) for Covington. Golden State can dangle Russell, but I'll bet Minny wants this summer's #1 pick, too.

Is that so surprising, though? When you have nearly $80M of your cap space tied up in TWO players, combined with an owner who has the shallowest pockets in the league, there's not much left to work with.

Can't justify giving him MORE shots and involvement when he's playing like utter sh!te, though.

There is currently no aspect of House's game that benefits our team. Like non.

"Rockets have cooled on a Covington trade" probably after:
    1) Wolves told Rockets they didn't want to take on 6 minimum players in a deal
    2) Wolves told Rockets they'd have to include 2 first round picks and Danuel House
    3) Tilman told Morey he had to make it an even money trade

Yeah I just don’t see how a trade for Covington could happen. Money isn’t right. If the Rockets do make a trade it would have to be smaller deals. Think like Torrey Craig, Markieff Morris or Malik Beasley and not guys who make more than $7M per year. It would cost us depth on the team and it just doesn’t make sense money wise to do so.

Hypothetically speaking even if we added Robert Covington for nothing it’s not like he’s going to help us very much unless Harden and Westbrook change the way they play.

Covington would absolutely help, just by being out there cause this team desperately need more defense/lenght, but at the same time it's not like we would get Jimmy Butler so, yeah, i get what you're saying.

Yeah but he plays good D, and he doesn't hurt that much because he only takes like 5 shots a game.

Rockets no longer interested in something they never had a chance of achieving...sounds about right

Can't wait to get him so he can stand in a corner watching someone else iso dribble on one spot for 15 seconds.

We can only hope that the roster management we’ve witnessed over the past few years will serve as a warning sign for Tilman. Be cheap, waste assets, miss out on players that could help improve your team. Obviously unlikely, but that is our only hope, even if that won’t come until Harden and Morey are out the door.

But that assumes that Tilman actually cares about winning and not just money, so obviously that remains to be seen.

What? It is pretty clear that Lux Tax savings are more important than winning.

Only need to take on 3 players, with Nene going to Atlanta right?

    (And Gerald Green being waived...)

Jae Crowder a better option. DANUEL house in Memphis would actually thrive.

crowder could be our best 3 and D guy since ariza. Then we can try to use nene and some minimums for Markeiff morris
