The reason that the rockets would win the first round playoff this year.

A good chance to have the home court advantage again.

Brooks and Lowry combination is better than Aston and Brooks one.

Artest and Wafer combination is better than TMac and Head one.

This year Scola is better than last year one.

    Yao is not injured yet.

Barry is much better than Head.

Battier and Landary are the same.

The players are buying the Adelman’s system.

Overall, there is a good chance to win the first round or more if everything is working out.

not to mention our superior lock down D. We have Defensive specialist at every position! Better 3 point shooting as well! Over all our team is better then last year, but it all depends who we get in the 1st round.. I hope we run into dallas.. I would love to put a beat down on dallas b/c I live up here in Fort Worth..

I am not sure I like Dalls either, J. Terry always seems to have great games against us. Don't forget Barrea either he gave us fits this last game.

    Howard
    Nowitzki
    Terry
    Barrea
    Kidd
    Bass

that is not a bad team now.

My bad, do not include the defensive part of the team, which is the key for winning.

isn't it way to early to discuss about tat.?
we only got a 6 win in a row but it doesn't mean we can keep it til the end of the season
    and in playoffs
every team is different , way tougher than the one itself in the regular season

Terry is only one who can put some points on us. Dirk is so soft, Kidd can not shoot, Barrea was just hot that night, we should be ok with Dallas. Jazz maybe be a problem for us again.

Yes, it is a bit of early, but the last night win just made me too excited to not think more. Again, we need get the HCA, if not, any those discussion could be useless.

You forgot the most important one ... not having the dark cloud on the court.

I would say that last year we were minus one of our stars, with no one to sub in for him.

Now we have Artest and Scola has become a Top ten PF in the NBA.

    here is my question:

if the Rockets make the Playoffs, do you guys really think we can compete with Brooks and Lowry against the elite point guards in the league?

We might easily get matched up with Chris Paul or Deron Williams in the First Round, with Tony Parker and/or Billups licking their chops in the next round...

My impression is "Yes". they can do their job. Brooks is quick, Lowry is strong, plus that Brooks already met Paul, Parker, and Billups, he did not have much problem. Only thing they need do is to slow others in the playoff. For Billpus, we should put Artest on him for some min if he is too stong for Brooks or Lowary.

I think that being young gives us a shot, they will both have a good game or two, but during the key matches in the series they will most likely be non factors.

The key will be to use our strenghts (the not so twin towers) to succeed.

I'm not sold quite yet on our double headed point guard option.

most of the games we played against the teams mentioned featured Rafer in a starting role, Brooks played limited bench minutes.

let's hope he can hold his own...

Our strengths is our center and PFs, the guards need to protect the ball, pass the ball to big man, I think they can do it, I recall Parker did his job in the first year playoff. The key for a point guard is that he should have a point guard IQ, Rafer does not have it, and Lowry and Brooks have it.

basically, they will be a better team than their opponent. This season the top western are much weaker. It's not case in the earlier playoff series. Dallas in 05 are way better than rockets and in both serieses with jazz rockets was hit by injures.

And now even without Tmac, Rockets should rank on top 3 with spurs and lakers. maybe Jazz and Portaland can give them some mismatch. Still for sure they should pass 1st round.

can you guys stop all the jinx. jeez, it's too early to talk about the playoffs. we still have a lot of tough regular season games left to play. anything, good or bad, could happen.

Yes, other teams are weaker, if we can get the top 3, or 4 seed, then we should have a very good chance to pass the first round playoff in the decade. It has been a long time for this team without a playoff win.
