What do you mean by "wrestle"? Using your arms a lot? Clutching and grabbing and being a nuisance? The Rockets do that a lot to other opponents. Watch Ron Artest out on the perimeter, or Luis Scola defending in the post.

And, let's be honest. The contact in the post does go both ways. When you see the Yao's arm tangled with a defender and the whistle isn't blown, as often as not Yao is the one that's holding their arm off so he can keep them from getting around him.

Ron is pretty physical with Roy, but it isnt even close with how defenders are able to wrestle with Yao.

A lot of the calls that were made in Yao's favor had me scratching my head a bit. Kinda the same way durvasa is looking at it. There is undoubtedly contact, often two hands in the back or they're holding him with their arm, but they've never called it before.

They need to revise the rule book and make it clear cut what is or is not a foul in the post. Put the refs through a 50 hour boot camp course so they can all be on the same page. The inconsistency is more irritating than anything.

The kicker is, I see a lot of stupid non-calls, then some basic ticky tack foul is called. This going both ways of course.

how about changing the rules to -

yao gets the calls on weekdays but not weekends; or
he gets the call in the playoffs but not the regular season; or
yea when it's raining and nay when it's not?

that'd be something fresh and new.

They simply stopped allowing Priscilla and Oden to bearhug Yao. They had been literally wrapping their arms around him every time down the floor, and the refs called fouls to prevent that crap from happening. Then they had to play him like a BASKETBALL PLAYER and not a WWE wrestler, and Yao scored an easy 21. It's amazing what can happen when constant fouling is eliminated from the game.
