The Pacers are probably going to experience exactly what we went through last year after losing Dale Davis, Mark Jackson, Chris Mullin, and maybe even Rik Smits. Afterall, their lineup will probably look like this...

    PG-Rose/Best
    SG-Miller/Harrington
    SF-Croshere/McKey
    PF-Bender/O'Neal/Foster
    C-Perkins/Tabak

Though they still have Rose, Miller, and Croshere they would definitely be a lottery team in the West. In the East they *might* be able to make the playoffs with a weekened bench such as this.

Smits and Mullin combined make over $14M. If they had even a small idea this was going to occur, why did they not court Brad Miller? Maybe they did and I was engrossed in the Mo Taylor/King Kong fiasco. Does anyone recall this coming up?

Hindsight is 20-20, but move Big Smooth to the second unit and that's not a bad lineup. Especially since Miller could have played some 4 when Sam came into the game.

DaneB, What do base your opinion that the pacers will be a lottery team on? Is it the fact you dislike the Pacers or are just another hater slash Critic. The Pacers were the best team in the league last year and are still the best in the east. The Pacers are not better than last year but they were head and shoulers above any east team last year.
Smits will be back, Al Harrington will be a terror this year Croshere is gonna dominate any small in his path. No point guard will come close to stopping Jalen Rose and Jermaine O Neal is gonna be good for 12 points and 8 Rebounds a game. The Pacers will be back in east finals next year whethter they win is another story.

Dude, Jeff Foster WILL step into the starter's role next year.

*Disclaimer, RM95 would do just about anything to see a fellow Southwest Texas State University alum start in the NBA. He already had Ricky Sanders in the NFL and Charles Austin in the Olympics. Plus, Spurgeon Wynn is on the Browns.

The Pacers are headed back to the playoffs easily this year. It would take a major injury to Rose, Miller, or another key player to keep them out. Don't forget, they play in the East!

    They should've traded for Cato.

I don't think Foster will start [IMG] But he's a GREAT banger and gives them good depth at the PF spot!

    PG Rose/ Best
    SG Miller
    SF Harrington/ Bender/ McKey
    PF Croshere/ Foster/ O'Neal (?)
    C Perkins/ Tabak / O'Neal (?)/Brezec

Not quite sure what they project O'Neal as... I presume they look at him as a starter at the C position down the track. Harrington and Bender both play SF and a little PF or a little SG - but SG will be manned by Miller and Rose.
I'm pretty sure they'd like to add another point to their roster - for insurance should they get struck by injury!!

That team isn't going to the lottery though! 4th seed isn't out of the question - winning their division isn't out of the question either!
