    fixed.

curry does not have to carry the offense. if he does not show up to work the warriors can still score 120 and win the championship. harden doesnt show up and the rockets cant score 70, and make it to a top 3 pick in the nba instead of a top 3 seed.

defense is so easy when you are not required to do everything on offense.

no that's not the only you find out. there defensive iq's are tremendously different. there efforts are different. there footwork is different. their focus on defense is different. any person that understands the full concept of what defensive is would know harden is amongst the worst.

the reason he doesn't guard the best guard on the opposing team is not because hes a terrible defender. that's just incorrect. the reason is bc you have an elite defender next to him that is capable. that has nothing to do with your belief that curry is a terrible defender. so kerr is less agreeing with you but more so making the better decision for a team to put themselves in position to win.

ahh yes the days of the nba where guys accept the excuse of just carrying an offense so it's the sole reason you can suck defensively and it's ok. that's just flat out terrible. it's no wonder people are so scared to hold harden accountable

you can fix whatever posts you want. year after year will just continue to confirm. can't even believe people are still trying to make a case for harden when it comes to defense to this day. take off the goggles plz

yeah, name one other player in the nba who creates 70% of their teams offense like harden does. the only player is westbrook and he is extremely inefficient, leaves his man to grab rebounds, gambles too much and gets burned a lot. his defense was was no better than hardens last season.

I'd say john wall and hes solid on defense. he'll give you the effort without a doubt.

Mike Conley, but hey the Grizz are invisible to the nba. But conley is everything to the Grizz.

    wall averages
    6.1 points less
    0.5 APG less
    3.9 less rebounds
    4.1 less FTAs

i think if we only expected john walls numbers from james harden then he would be much better defensively.

you just asked for someone who works just as hard for their respective teams as harden. now you're comparing them individually. completely different

    conley haverages
    9 less pounts
    5 less assists
    5.6 less rebounds
    5.6 less free throws

harden is clearly the better point guard. if we let harden get away with conley's numbers then harden would be a much better defender.

you guys are mentioning some of the greatest players in the game. And those players are nowhere close to harden on offense.

also, Harden is not playing with another max player like Bradley Beal who can be counted on to create his own looks every night. same with marc gasol. harden creates for everyone.

so a couple years ago when harden was averaging 25 pts a game and 6 asst a game what was the excuse then for him sucking on defense going by your now logic

the fact that you think it's just acceptable for someone to just suck on defense bc they do so much on offense is just mind boggling.

I'm not terribly worried about defending Stephen Curry honestly.

did you just start following the nba 3 years ago. curry signed a low deal because the warriors and jerry west gave him the greg oden contract. they ddint think he would play at a high level because his foot problems.

he made mistakes and was bad. but he has since learned and gotten better. its hard to erase that rep because of one video.

    lets look at the stats
    harden

    ORPM
    6.38

    DRPM
    -1.57

    conley

    ORPM
    4.67

    DRPM
    -0.2

    wall

    ORPM
    3.52

    DRPM
    -1.26

interesting how John Wall and Mike Conley's offensive production went up this season and their defense took a hit.

you know what's really nice? To be able to say yo I'm tired, here you go Bradley Beal, here you go Marc gasol. you create.

that must be really nice. give the ball to Beverly, Ariza, capela, or Anderson and see what happens.

people want to believe what they want to believe. you can never challenge the efforts of either of those guys. something you can't say about harden. so tell us in a recent example why did harden suck so bad defensively in game 6 of the spurs. he took 2 shots by halftime. was the load just so much in that half that he was flat out exhausted

because he had to guard a big 7 foot tall player named LaMarcus Aldridge, then fight said 7 footer for rebounds, then get pressured when he brought the ball up by a great defender named Jonathan Simmons. Greg Popovich went straight to that match up from the first possession of the game and wore Harden out.

we were down to one center. harden had to play center and PG with pressure defense.

I did not know he could pass it to Eric Gordon and Lou Williams on the bench. also, we got lou later in the season and gordon was not as reliable. the real issue is both players play the same position as harden.
