Dunno about you guys, but I'm starting to worry. This crap doesn't look like it is going to let up anytime soon. My car rides so low that it scares me when things start ponding up around here, plus I got a gig tonight near Memorial Park that I have to slosh my way to. Please post flooded street warnings that you run into here!
Word of advice to everyone about driving through standing water: Even if its not high enough to get into the cabin of your car, it can still do damage. Your air intake (which is behind the bumper on cars) will suck up water and throw it into your engine.
Yea, welcome to freakin' Seattle, TX. This rain sucks. According to weather.com, it's going to rain all the way through next Friday. Next Friday was as far as it would project. The worst part of all this (being selfish here) is I bought a new truck two weeks ago, and I haven't been able to keep it clean for more than a day!!!
Man, I just hope I can make it home today. Luckily, I have NOTHING to do this weekend. And that's exactly what I plan on doing.
I miss the amount of rain Houston normally gets. Here in Austin, you worry about not getting enough or having a flashflood. But this isn't normal. From the Chronicle... I've gone down Montrose in a canoe... hell, hitched rides in johnboats and canoes for miles to get home after my car flooded in the mid '70's. It ain't necessarily fun, but it can be an adventure. Be safe, people.
I now know that if I lived in Seattle, i would have committed suicide by now. This weather is making me horribly depressed and upset.
Could be worse. The tennis ball sized hail in Amarillo last week that knocked out windows and skylights and did a massive number on a lot of cars. And if you get hit with tennis ball sized hail, it probably hurts a good bit.
Yeah, whatever man. We've been hit by 40 mph winds and storms that were driving the rain sideways a week or two ago. And every day it looks like it's gonna rain here.
