Since 1983 there have been 92 times that an NBA player has taken more than 36 shots in a game. Based on comments from geniuses like Scottie Pippen about how Harden’s numbers are a product of D’Antoni’s system you would expect Harden to be all over this list. Harden isn’t first on the list. Kobe is with 22 games where he shot 37 times or more. Harden isn’t second on the list. Jordan is with 20 games of 37 or more shots. Harden isn’t even THIRD on the list. Russell Westbrook is with five games of 37 shots or more. Harden is 4th with only four games of 37 or more shots. I guess Jordan and Kobe were products of their system? Anyone could do what Jordan did if they got as many field goal attempts?
Did Harden just become the first player in NBA history with back to back games of 10 or more made threes? Also he is 20 for 33 from 3 for a cool 60% shooting over the past two games. Can you imagine how espn would react if LeBron or Curry did that?
Kobe was the ultimo-chucker and the media seemed to love him for it. The criticism against Harden, as always, is just noise. It's the popular thing to do.
Harden averages 24 shots a game AI, Kobe, etc used to average that and more, and they weren’t averaging damn near 40. They also didn’t rack up assists like Harden.
