It's looking like the Rangers will be in contention for the WC when the Astros roll into town. Drive the ****ing stake through their heart.

Similarities with MMP aside... this looks pretty terrible.

Weird “floating” seats in LF seem pointless and distant from the action (and concourses).

Extremely enclosed feeling/look when roof is closed... unlike MMP which has the large glass window with panoramic views (yes, I understand there is no skyline in Arlington to speak of).

The seating areas basically go 360... reminiscint of old cookie cutter ballparks, or the Astrodome’s final days... not a great thing. I prefer ballparks that have either plenty of outfield concourse space to stand/watch games without having to worry about seats (Baltimore, Houston, Cleveland, SF).

"Besides looking like us, you look horrible". LOL

One improvement is the glass being located in multiple quadrants, and overall, might be more glass.

    It's a good looking stadium.

They're already discussing how it may need to have artificial turf because the design "will make growing grass a challenge." :D:D:D

"We are still evaluating all of the options," Executive vice president for business operations Rob Matwick said. "Ballparks with retractable roofs have traditionally faced challenges with growing grass. The Globe Life Field surface will be at a deeper elevation than other parks, and we are studying all options to provide the greatest playing surface possible."

The similarities were simply the roof/track orientation, where the big screen is, and some of the truss work.

The overall scope of how it looks pales in comparison to the aesthetic quality of MMP... even simply on an early rendering basis.

The fact that they may not be able to grow grass there makes it even more "laughable". The only thing that makes this new park worth it (for them) is having a roof... but they're likely trading down in quality from where the ballpark in Arlington was when it first opened.

    Downplaying the similarities, now.

    For the sake of argument
    MMP is better.

Early rendering says their glass usage is better.

The ceiling looks partially glass. Time will tell if this creates a problem (ie Astrodome).

Would be a great strike against the park.
Good job using the "unseen" view.

It's great the regular backdrop is filling with buildings though.

    You actually like their rendering?

Is there a NASCAR park there as well?

It looks awful. Like a bad imitation of MMP.

Realize no one will concede anything positive, but the glass is nice.

a roof for a summer sport in Texas sounds like a good idea.

If only there was a stadium nearby that used glass... like an entire wall of it... so you can still see outside even when the roof is closed, without the obstruction of pillars and rows of seats.

What's more weak in your (weak) eyes?...

Saying "weak sauce" or exhibiting weak sauce?

Realize no one will concede any DFW advantage over HOU.

Upgrade MMP - the already BETTER stadium - to glass roof.
