I also viewed it as a horrible off season for a while but to be fair, it was literally only losing Ariza. Everyone else was brought back. The rest were all additions that didn’t work out, so while it’s not good, it didn’t hurt us (I guess Melo hurting us could be argued but we were just a mess) And I won’t get into how Luc is not a loss for the 100th time.
It was horrible bc the additions were terrible specifically melo and mcw. So not only did hou lose players, they were replaced with even worse players.
Disagree on Horrible. We locked up two key players (yes Paul’s contract is huge but we wouldn’t be better off without it) and we didn’t shell out a contract that hurts us. We lost one player. Avoided losing two better players. And tried players out that we were able to quickly move on from
I was trying to tell everyone that Melo was done, but no we had people saying "how bad could it actually be, at least he's better than Anderson"
There is a ton of reading material on here debating if Carmelo would be ok with coming off the bench.
Member berries was def bronze, this will take silver. Gold medal for Chris Farley sitting next to Paul McCartney with melo’s head photoshopped on saying... “That was awesome”
The only reason it worked out is bc hou has morey as a gm who I have faith is able to do what he can to correct horrible mistakes. And yeah both were clearly bad fits and horrible players from the beginning. Mcw was the complete opposite of everything this team does. And melo was every bit of what was being questioned by a number of people.
Right. Just saying Veteran minimum contracts can’t make for a horrible off season. Wasn’t saying they weren’t bad fits.
Not as much as i remember his amazing career with ATL. Hawks were undefeated with Melo. They'll be retiring his number soon enough.
Dwight Howard part 2 . However after the Dwight fiasco the management knew they couldn’t let it fester any farther so they got rid of him early.
So many here tried to convince us Melo and his 17 nicknames was the answer despite the eye test clearly showing the guy that was never a true leader had lost his skills to score easily. Yet House plays great and if someone makes a thread about his sucess the comparisons to Lin fans ensues. I hope the Rockets destroy the Warriors and spank the East and they send Melo a thank you note on the championship stationary.
Had no effect on the team, they were not making shots to start the season. Hate people who post stuff like this as if it is a players fault for a slow start. We would not be number 1 if we didn't have him to start the season
I seriously think this was a case of Morey's ego getting in the way. He couldn't live with that poster being up and not having a chance to see what Melo could do. Stubbornness for sure and then CP3 put the pressure on, which didn't help things though for Morey a great excuse.
