Say what you will about seeding but I really would like OKC to take that 3rd spot and face the GSW in the 2nd round. I haven't watched them lately and heard they may be imploding but they always seem to wake up for the top tier competition. Thoughts?
OKC is a tricky matchup only when/if Russ uses his head. Ferguson is explosive, and can shoot. If he plays well, they won't have to over rely on Melo to score. They will miss Roberson's defense. Portland is better on both ends of the floor, but they are somewhat over dependent on Dame.
What about "the hope that OKC gets the 7th seed" instead? Spoiler I'm also fine with "the hope that OKC gets the 9th seed" though
They’re not overtaking the 3rd spot they’re about 1 or 2 game in the loss colomn away from 8th spot. Also Portland are better
yup. okc isn't catching port for the 3rd seed. this would be the better scenario going by op's preference
Give me okc at #9 ;p haha. I just want them to fail going to the playoff. Wished spurs and okc wouldn’t make the playoffs but seems unlikely now. That said I wouldn’t care if we face them in the first round. Any team will have to bring their A game and even then we would have a counter for their strategy. And no okc won’t get 3rd spot imo because they have a tough schedule still. If the spurs win some after they play us (because let’s be honest we will win that game) they will get the 4 spot.
assuming the rockets will rest most of the team sunday, i think the spurs will win since they need the W more than hou does
Doesn' matter, okc doesn't worry me. More so spurs or Por like someone mentioned above. It's the energy itd take to beat them is my concern
You guys have to explain WHY you want OKC in the particular seed. You can't just start typing out numbers.. I'm not that insightful. I want OKC to be the 9th seed. If OKC is the 9th seed, OKC doesn't play in the playoffs. You see what I did there?
I think Portland is the tougher matchup for us than OKC. Their defense is surprisingly good and they've been hitting more threes. Lillard doesn't have the accolades Westbrook does, but he's more cerebral and deadlier to us IMO. I hope OKC gets the 7th seed and takes out a Curry-less Warriors. Curry being out is a huge blow to Golden State's offense. And Adams can actually manhandle GS's frontcourt. I don't like OKC at all and kind of wish they could miss the playoffs altogether, but if they could take out GS for us early I certainly wouldn't complain.
What's the difference between 3rd seed and 6th seed? btw: Portland has the tie-breaker on OKC and have a 3 game lead in the loss column, so OKC has to make up 4 games in the loss column. With 7 games to play, POR has a magic number of 4 vs OKC, to stay in front of them. like this (in @topfive style): If POR goes 4-3, OKC cannot overtake them If POR goes 3-4, OKC must go 8-0 If POR goes 2-5, OKC can go 7-1 If POR goes 1-6, OKC can go 6-2 If POR goes 0-7, OKC can go 5-3
He went 6-9 on 3 pointers vs the Lakers on January 3, 18 for 24 points along with 3 steals. The potential is there for this 19 year old man.
