    Municipal elections.

Municipality level votes tend to effect things like your local utilities and other public services that have immediate impact on lives such as garbage collection and public grade school funding which last time I checked effects legal residents whether immigrant or citizen.

Yes. And its something that hasn't ever been done before so lets not act like its no big deal.

First, we "normalize" illegal aliens by changing the way we describe them as "undocumented immigrants".
Second, we create "sanctuary cities and states" so that we protect them from immigration.
Now, we give them a vote. We say its "just" Municipal elections in order to downplay it.
Soon, we give them a vote in general elections...citing the precedent of allowing them to vote in Municipal elections.

Yes indeed, the slippery slope in action.

Like everything, they are happy when it benefits them. Then their tune changes dramatically when it not longer works out the way they intended.

These are legal immigrants, not illegal immigrants. Do you see what you are doing to insinuate that all immigrants are illegal?

A distinction without a difference. They are not citizens but are soon to be indistinguishable from citizens.

They are legal residents who pay property tax
They should have a say in how their waste management and water treatment services are ran.

Soon to be indistinguishable from citizens?

You need to take a basic civics course because you have no idea what citizens have.

Wasn't one of the reason for our disagreement with England and the American revolution the idea of "No Taxation without Representation"?

Sounds about like something you'd expect from the left today, after all they are pushing for the elimination of borders and of nations, this is a logical step towards those goals.

I dont mind this. Hopefully Boston and the northeast in general will become a preferred destination for all immigrants.

That would greatly hurt the rest of the nation. I like the idea of immigrants bringing their gifts and enhancing the culture of our nation in all parts of the country.

I like them for the most part except for the many who drive terribly without insurance in the houston area. Oh, and I dont like the gang ones either.

This is short sighted IMO and politically foolish as well.

    Non citizens should not vote.

We should develop a program to grant citizenship to long term residents that do not have a criminal record.

Why do you think legal residents who pay property tax should have no say in how their waste management services or water treatment facilities are handled?

    Who is they?

Aren’t conservative in favor of the local government charting their own path and let the democracy experiment play out?

This is quit a locale issue. They want to try, go ahead and see how it play out for them.

They are, except when local government charts a path detrimental to their interests, usually business or religious. See: plastic bag bans, ride-sharing, bathrooms, short-term rentals, fracking, etc....

“As opposed to the state having to take multiple rifle-shot approaches at overriding local regulations, I think a broad-based law by the state of Texas that says across the board, the state is going to pre-empt local regulations, is a superior approach.” -- Gov. Greg Abbott
