http://blog.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/2008/01/how_to_become_a_wiz_ballboy_wi.html Trust me its well worth the read, click on the link if you want a reader friendly version but it really makes you appreciate the person that is Gilbert Arenas
what an unbelievable move. ****, i wouldn't meet someone from myspace in person, and gil places his trust in this kid. must be a special kid. definitely, the greatest arenas story ever told
Gilbert's quirky behavior has grown annoying to me over the past season and a half or so, but this is a cool story. More of this. Less pompous predictions.
The article seemed like it should go on a lot more, and just ended kind of strange. But as far as what Gilbert did, it is pretty cool. He's always seemed like a normal joe in that way to me. He only gets a little annoying when he takes that "chip on his shoulder" persona too far.
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/magic/2002-12-22-sniper-victim_x.htm Not the same, but still nice gesture by Tracy
haha thats really cool. anyone go to the link about Caron Butler surprising someone by going to their party? http://blog.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/2007/05/a_caron_butler_surprise.html thats a good story. The wizards just love communicating with their fans.. Nick Young and Dominic Mcguire have V-LOGS on youtube.. gil has a blog and is doing this kind of stuff caron going to random kids birthday parties thats pretty cool
I remember this, and I thought it was awesome then and now. You would see the kid at some of the Magic games for a while after. Class act. I really hope we can win it all with Yao and McGrady, because it literally couldn't happen to nicer guys.
he is a nice guy, hard-working, success didn't come to him easy, i guess he indeed has some character in him..
did u guys go to his black president website??? and happen to check out his "secret service"??? damnnnnnnnn son.
Only Gilbert Arenas could get away with meeting teenage boys on the internet. Well, Gilbert and Republican Senators. J/k Great story! Arenas has always seemed like a genuinely nice guy even if he doesn't seem to "get it" on the court. I have to say I prefer the guy who uses his superstar status to help others over the guy who is a dick but wins a lot in the NBA.
Cool story. I remember seeing another story on him on NBA Inside Stuff (I think). This is what I could find related to that, briefly trying to search on the internet: Washington Post And just like the Garrett story, it was a real connection, not a one-day meet and greet.
