The goal should be winning 40 games before losing 15 games

Would love to hit 40 before 15 but with our shity defense we have been playing lately and the tough schedule I don't see it happening.

I agree with you on the Warriors and Cavs.

 

I don't really care about those types of random mid-season goals. I think their goal should be to finish with a top 3 seed and do everything they can to avoid the Warriors in the first or second round of the playoffs. How many games they win along the way is completely irrelevant to me. Would winning 60 games for the first time in franchise history be cool? Yes. But I'd much rather they win 59 games and make it to the WCF or Finals than win 60+ games and get knocked out in the first or second round.

 

Just put on a show in the regular season and pray for a big trade or a big free agency signing.

There is almost zero chance of beating the Warriors in a 7 game series as is.

 

The Celtics are not a team that can be taken advantage of. They're pretty damn good, and better than they were a month ago where we only beat them because Horford missed a wide open layup.

These back to backs are brutal. I see we got another four games in five nights, with the last two being against GSW and Memphis. Good lord.

 

Exactly. My expectations started so low, and thats probably why im presently so happy lol. Really though, I dont consider us a contender yet due to size/rebounding and continuing chemistry. We HAVE to top doing these things all at the same time:

Missing everything so just taking 3s
Allowing the opponent to score every time down the floor
Unforced turnovers

The combination of those 3 things loses us every big lead we ever get, its CRAZY. I hope we can get a rebounding/def PF and that Ryan Anderson learns SOME kind of consistency. Harden had the ball SO much that some of his TOs are forgiveable, but most would be very easy to avoid. That slow behind the back pass at the 3pt line drives me nuts, almost as much as his between 2 defenders bounce-pass to the post.

Anyways, Id be fine with a good 2nd round showing. I believe we could go further, but not much. In the playoffs our 3s will be much better contested, Harden will not get as many calls, and rebounding is going to be a BIG, big deal. If our shot isnt falling, we have to find a way to stay in the game and right now were scary bad when our shot isnt falling.

 

Four games to spare (losses) while Capela gets ready to return. Can the Rockets win 8 in a row to hit 40?
