is there a new rule? Imagine all the extra points we'd get off Howard's missed free throws if Parsons or Harden runs to the rim like that every time

So the main, most reasonable takeaway from all this is Chandler is about to show the world he is on Michael's level

When the ball is out of the hands of the freethrowshooter then you may go after the ball

And the freethrowshooter may not go after the ball until the ball has touched the rim

Why are there no videos of Lebron free throw line putback dunking?

Lebron doesn't stand at the 3 point line using free throw shooting or it'll be easy for him to so also.

Parsons just tried it this preseason.

And it's not done "every time" because they can just send someone to block you out. Technically, they should already be watching for it, but some players get lazy on the box outs.

Um, you know, that was Michael Jordan, right?

This is only one of several examples why he is the GOAT and why you don't see it more often.

Right. It only happens cuz of lazy boxing out.

Any player besides free throw shooter can start their motion and enter the paint once the ball has left free throw shooter's hands.

Can send in outside guys to dash at the rim for putbacks on frequent ft missers. But it also leaves YOUR team vulnerable to allow easy fast break the OTHER way if you dont get the rebound or putback.

You could maybe scheme one guy to run back for protection and other to dash in. But its just too many moving parts on a simple play. Then the actual miss BOUNCE is unpredictable. Lot of running in coming up empty will happen

You might get one every 7th game if it goes right. Not enough occurences to strategize for. (Plus the FT shooter wants THEIR points anyway )
