Honestly, I don't mind that much. I won't be watching it live regardless. It's an historic moment, sure, but it's going to be debased by a bunch of partisan grandstanding and non-sequitur arguments anyway. But, if they wrap up at 2 am, that gives the news organizations 6 hours to cobble together some good reporting and to distill the 12 hours of jabbering into 10 minutes of actual news. Works for me. My morning commute news time will be undisturbed, and I'll just listen to music on my drive home.
As a point of reference... The Senate pretrial in the Clinton impeachment started on January 7, 1999, The House Managers presented their cases January 14-16, The defense presentation January 19-21, Questions from senators to the House Managers January 22-23 Closing arguments happened on February 8, Final verdict February 9. So... you can see how senate republicans led by mconnell and trump are rushing this cover-up through...
The republican cover-up is on. trump may escape impeachment, but the majority of Americans will correctly believe it was a cover-up and that he could have or even should have been impeached...
So, no fishing expedition. And the vote was along straight party lines. It is all but over. The fat lady is fully limbered up and moving into position at center stage. Can you all say the word "Exonerated"? If there is anyone here who was not previously familiar with this word, you sure will after this.
If anyone on here truly believed the REPUBLICAN SENATE would REMOVE Trump... I have some land in Louisiana to sell you.... Trump still goes down in the books as being Impeached and now the Republicans will have to deal with their sins come November... T_Man
I don't know how any one that's not totally disillusioned and absent of reality that would use the word exonerated in this sense. I suppose those same people think OJ is actually innocent.... We knew where this was going all along.
Coming in hot? Is that supposed to be impressive? It is a law school trick we were taught to use when you lack evidence.
