Watching some old Hakeem and noticing just how unique and unusual his
shot release was. Never seen anything very similar.

Smooth, a thing of beauty. And just like the man himself, impossible to replicate.

Next time you're shooting hoops, try it yourself. Promise you'll just
    feel super uncoordinated.

Don't know how to post a gif. But a true Rockets fan
    doesn't need such a thing.

Yep looks good. Fluid there. The free throws look a bit more awkward- with the 2 hands almost equally in action and a set push shot type deal.

Hakeem's like Kobe. Both take a ton of bad shots, but make enough to not be criticized.

Since he doesn't shoot far, he shoot coming down. Kinda awkward, but it worked.

 huh? You act like hakeem was jacking 3s and long jumpers.... Any shot from him in the post was not a bad shot at all...

No he is not. Hakeem made most of his shots Kobe did not. Also Kobe is criticized all the time about his bad shots.

First thing I notice is that he had possibly the best footwork ever - certainly the best for a big. Seems like he didn't entirely square up to shoot - he would square up just his shooting shoulder while his other shoulder would be shifted, his legs shifted, etc. His touch was amazing in that regard.

 Kobe has never shot over 50% FG/season in his career. Hakeem has a career FG percentage of 51%. Kobe was a great player, but did you watch him play last season?

Was expecting to read an interesting thread about Hakeem and we get an idiot saying Hakeem was pretty much a chucker.

He had a great release, of course. Not sure how unique it is though.

Ouch. You might want to leave the BBS and come back as someone else. I doubt if you can ever live that post down.
