Lou Williams also played the Warriors. Lou was unstoppable... I know he is not superstar, but still...
Did Harden not average 35 on 46% shooting against GS? Lou Williams had 2 great games, 1 good game, and 3 absolute trash games where he shot 4-11, 2-10, and 3-21, but we’re just gonna ignore those games and act like Lou Williams was the pinnacle of greatness against GS...
Look Yall Mj couldn't dominate the Pistons until the triangle offense punished the defense for doubling ant tripling Mj and allowed for everyone on the floor to be a threat on high percentage baskets. Doug Collins lost his job for allowing Mj to dominate the Ball and play the point. The Next year when Phil Jackson took some of those possessions and put Mike in the Post it put pressure On every defense in the league. It forced them to make a decision that would ultimately lead to a high percentage shot. They couldn't scheme against Mike and when the Bulls got great at running it the rest was history. Same thing with Shaq and Kobe the triangle always put the defense at the disadvantage. Harden will never get better if he is always iso 1 against a loaded 5 NBA defense. He can Iso in situations but it should not be every play we are reducing his options and not making teams respect us. They need to respect every player we put on the floor not just James harden. You telling me we couldn't put James in the Post on Curry and let a guy cut . James Harden never cuts. We got to play some basketball sometimes. Morey Ball is nice to better efficiency but it should never come at the cost of playing the Game the way it needs to be played to win. Right now we need a better balance. I know I am ranting but we really got a good team we just need to use everyone the right way. I honestly think the Warriors are happy and relieved we hadn't figured it out yet because they know we can beat them handily if we did.
If you watch those game, you know Lou is more impressive. Made those difficult shots one after another.
it’s embarrassing...they’re more than willing to make all these ignorant and dumb posts just to keep their agenda going
The point of this isn't too dump on Harden, you have to try to win with him, it's too see his limitations and put high efficiency players around him. He can average 50 ppg or 25 ppg for the season, but his FG% will always be around 45% at best. For comparison, Giannis shot 58% from the field. That is a HUGE difference. Kawhi shot 50% during the season and 54% during the playoffs. The team does not need more volume shooters where you try to out FGA a better team. It's failed 5 years in a row. An efficient big man like Kanter would have been great in the series. Capela wasn't doing special things that Kanter couldn't. Surround Harden with high efficiency players, don't lean on a guy like Chris Paul to provide with his 42% FG, or Eric Gordon with his 40% to overachieve every game.
I honestly think he has molded himself into that type player for so long that he probably won't change that habit. The coach seems fine with it though, because he just keeps doing it. I agree, its maddening to watch at times.
The biggest difference is their salary and the fact that Lou isn't the leader of their team. He was one of many chess pieces thrown in for Paul. They both got the same result. A lost series.
The problem is, these games happened during regular season. Harden is the 82-game king. It doesn't matter if he shoots poorly for three straight games, because he will shoot lights out next three. It's simple math. You can't do that in playoffs. If your superstar shoots poorly for two straight games, chances are you are going to lose at least one of those two. Houston has done good against GSW past two years not because of their offense, but because of their defense.
The difference is Harden will get crucified while other superstars will always have some ready made excuse to rationalize their shortcomings.
GSW are the Rockets obstacle. Everyone else in the West seems to get a pass. These other stars should be accountable for losing to GSW.
So did everyone out West for the last 5 years. You either lost to Golden St. Or you weren't good enough to play them in the playoffs. So should EVERYONE just give up?
Jesus man you need some lessons in middle school level math if you think comparing field goal percentage is a useful metric here.
