IMO he's setting them up for a lawsuit. He knows the AntiFa animals in that area can't control themselves and he knows that they won't really provide adequate security for his event and he's going anyway to show those facts to the world.

That's one angry white guy from what I remember. Clearly too much privilege.

    1. They are protesters, not - counter protesters.

They were there to protest hateful racist groups like Nazis, White supremists and the alt-right.

Hatred should be protested against, and Nazis should be punched, we fought a war 75 years ago and learned that lesson, you don't negotiate with Nazis, you knock em out.

you dont knock someone out for having an opinion DD. Doesn't matter how evil it is. You knock them out if they try to apply force a la Antifa and the real Nazis. Why is the point of free speech lost on so many people these days? You really think we took out the Nazis because they thought or said Jews were inferior? NO, we did it because they killed them.

Here is the moral response to Nazis protesting in your city (or any group with an evil opinion) :

    1) you can go to the event and hand of fliers giving your opinion why their opinion is wrong.
    2) give a speech the following day or right after explaining why Nazis are wrong
    3) ignore them

IF your goal when counter protesting is to prevent the other person's opinion from being heard then you are an ******* who doesn't understand why we have the first amendment. This would include punching, trying to scream over them, or any heckler's veto.

The reason you are an ******* is because you deny anyone from hearing either opinion and making up their own mind. You are no different from a person who burns books because you think its content is evil.

This is a very logical post, and I mostly agree... But the fact is, those hate groups aren't just interested in rhetorics, their work tends to escalate exponentially and snowball into something very dangerous.

If it escalates then police should respond and if police don't then punch the crap out of them.

It's far better to allow those groups to remain the "bad guy" by not engaging them than it is to muddy the water by showing up armed and attacking them. That goes for AntiFa as well as Nazi groups and white supremacist groups. All you do when you show up and attack them is provide them with propaganda that will help justify their BS to people susceptible to being recruited by groups like that.

You should never respond to thoughtcrime with physical violence. The counter for speech you don't agree with is more speech you do agree with. Make a cogent argument, not a physical attack.

It is NOT a counter protest, it is a protest against hate groups like Nazis....

You should not be giving them a permit in the first place, but if you do, you need to have major security there as they are ONLY there to start crap.

It isn't new and has nothing to do with Charlottesville. But sometimes when neo-Nazis and White nationalists are being blasted by media and reasonable people, some folks feel the need to lash out at someone else.

I haven't figured out why that is, but it is clearly apparent here.

I'm glad the black clad jackasses have someone to beat on, just make them leave the storefronts and cars alone. Beat the asses whose asses need beating. And vice versa. Thunderdome Style.

Anifa scums were the one that started the violence in Charlottesville but liberals seem to get their panties in a bunch whenever someone on the right calls them out. Pathetic.
