They should trade for cousins... Gives them a legit big reminds me of a better offensive Perkins. Maybe kg can light some fire up his ass he did it to Perkins and look how that turned out, 2008 nba champs. 1. Rondo 2. Bradley 3. Pierce 4. KG 5. Cousins Other problem is that the C's have no bench.
Definitely agree, it's one of those symptoms of Clutch Fans, Rondo is a top 5 point guard, easily. 14 ppg and 12 ast is pretty rare in NBA history outside of Magic, Oscar, Stockton, and Nash. Sidenote: I wish people on this site would stop propping up Kyle Lowry ... he is a good point guard, nowhere near a great one. He could not replace Rondo, because he doesn't have the same playmaking skills, an inferior passer and offensive mastermind, and arguably a worse jumpshooter.
I agree. Many people have the "what have you done for me now" mantra, and they criticize Rondo without looking at the big picture. Kyle Lowry is good, not great. He can be a good starting PG for a championship team, but not their focal point or 2nd option.
Seeing how close he is with mchale, im sure kg would agree to the trade. Heck, maybe ainge would return the favor mchale did him years ago and not ask for too much to give kg back. The more i think about it the more i like the idea. Kg is perfect for what we need now. He'll have the same effect as sheed had to the pistons. I hope celtics continue to suck and decide to blow it up.
So maybe it really was the absence of one of their few younger players and defensive specialists in Avery Bradley that was causing a problem? http://www.nba.com/games/20130104/INDBOS/gameinfo.html Bradley and Rondo combined to make life difficult for DJ Augustin, who finished with just 6 points and 4 assists in 30 minutes.
Teams that are younger and athletic are doing damage in the league right now...and till teams address the age and youth on teams, older teams will struggle and younger teams thrive...just based on youth and energy... The way to combat that is having really solid mgmt and great coaching: ie Spurs, Bulls Or have superstars: Heat, OKC...
If they do go into fire sale, KG intrigues me. I'm not sure about the cap situation, but if it didn't kill our flexibility for a max free agent, I wouldn't be apposed. He is one of my least favorite players but he would give us a chance to at least challenge OKC and LAC. Plus I think he would be a great veteran presence for our young team. By the time his contract would be over Harden would be in his prime. I imagine he would sign off on the no trade to come play with McHale again.
Is the vaunted Celtics defense back? Celtics went into the 3rd quarter down by 19 to the Hawks. They proceeded to hold the Hawks to a 9 point quarter and scored 33 in the 3rd. Avery Bradley is a superb defender.
As soon as their best player leaves the floor their defense goes from elite to hot garbage. There offense is also mediocre despite being run by a "top 3 PG".
I love to have KG join the Rox We need another strong inside presence around the basket I recall the Celtics were about .500 before the all-star break last year then Rondo played well in the second part of the season Winning enough games to be 4th seed in the playoffs I think they can still make it this year with this squad Though I think losing Ray Allen hurt them

WOW! That was perhaps one of the most exciting games of the season. Celtics without Rondo after his suspension still manage to pull this game out. Celtics and Knicks were trash talking and things were getting chippy. Paul Pierce with the goodbye kiss to the crowd! Avery Bradley truly is a special young player, with his return Boston has returned to being a defensive juggernaut that it has been last season.
