I don't disagree with the decision because it was a close fight but GGG was never going to win even if he had decisively won more rounds. That's the game of boxing. Canelo is more marketable, younger, and will bring bigger PPVs for longer. If that was not the case, he would've outright lose the first fight because he lost that decisively. Kellerman and Roy Jones were pushing the narrative for Canelo from the get-go. I had to mute it halfway through. I know this makes it seem like I'm a Canelo hater but I'm not, I'm a hater of the "boxing game" and the shady politics involved.
H-Town’s own Jermall Charlo vs. Canelo Alvarez. Make the fight happen at NRG Stadium in Houston, TX. 2019 or 2020?
You guys do realize that boxing has always been corrupt. Controversial decisions are the norm in boxing. Nothing has changed.
Yep. Doesn’t mean I have to like it though. I gave up on boxing years ago. It’s just not what it once was.
I actually don't mind the shady scoring in boxing. The courruption and the dark side of boxing gives it its charm. Like what other major sport besides mma is this subjective with the outcome? Lol there's nothing else like it And it doesn't take away from how good a fight is. With that said, I had ggg winning a close one or a draw. But I don't think it was a robbery
There was nothing shady about it Good fight good decision freakin hatin ass whackos just can't stand Canelo lol First fight all I heard was that he wasn't the aggressor This one he was and now the narrative gets changed because Triple landed more garbage jabs? lol gtfo
Comments here seem extremely biased, it was a really close fight that could have gone both ways. Saying GGG got robbed or that the decision was clearly corrupt is bullsh**.
I thought Canelo won a close fight, but I could also see a draw or a close win for Gennady. He made a comeback in the last three rounds.
2 media members had Canelo winning. When an overwhelming majority of people have GGG winning how is that 2/3 people think the other guy won.
Golovkin is the fan favorite Not that complicated really Any close round is more likely to go to him if you are biased There's lots of draws in there too. Canelo won most of the early rounds imo by landing the better shots and stalking him the whole night. As he gassed like he's known to do, Golovkin made a comeback and won the later rounds but it wasn't enough imo. Regardless, either way the fight went it wasn't some travesty of justice. It was pretty god damn close.
for anyone claiming the third fight is already a done deal LOL. you guys clearly dont know how these negotiations work. De la hoya isnt going to give GGG more then 30% of the next purse and GGG has one hell of a ego. They couldnt even settle on the second fight purse and GGG actually had negotiating power due to the drug test and all the pressure on canelo. Canelo really has nothing to prove giving GGG another fight. Theyre going be stingy as ****
Lot of heat in that division: http://boxrec.com/en/ratings?r[coun...eweight&r[sex]=M&r[stance]=&r[status]=a&r_go= I feel like Saunders is the most talented one in middleweight, would love to see him take a shot at GGG and Canelo.
Who is Canelo going to fight. A majority of people thought GGG won both fights. Scoring for Canelo's fights have always been kind of whack. He got a judge giving him 114-114 against mayweather. He might not have won a single round in that fight.
