It's on Floyd's terms, so I won't be watching. Anybody that thinks Mcgregor has a chance in this fight is seriously naïve. Mcgregor vs Pac might be entertaining.

I can't believe they are actually discussing this happening. I can't imagine that many people paying for it either.

People love entertainment and these two are also two of the biggest athletes in sports, not that hard to see why the fight would be extremely popular.
Mayweather knows he'll win easily, McGregor has nothing to lose and both will receive a huge paycheck, it's a win/win for everyone involved.

    Yeah, entertainment and money.

If Floyd doesn't KO him early, it's another indictment against him IMO.

Oh no, I get that. But anyone who knows anything about either sport, knows they are talking about a boxing match. People who dedicate their lives to the sport of boxing can't beat Mayweather. How does one figure McGregor will have any more success? Would I watch it, sure, why not? But as I said, who would pay for this? It might become the most bootlegged event ever. I can only assume if they can't get the PPV numbers, it won't make them the money they need.

There are a LOT of idiots who believe Conor can win, you only have to skim through message boards and Facebook. The “Mayweather is a p****y who only runs“ narrative is out of control and is what made this fight possible imo, people who don't understand boxing somehow think that Conor will be able to make this a brawl.

That tiny possibility of an upset might also motivate other people to pay for the fight, as it would be an historic event.

Be ready to be disappointed. This is going to look so amateur on Conor's part of boxing. There will be no KO with those amped up comfy boxing gloves.

I would pay top dollar to see a fight between these 2.

A boxing match on the other hand is just a paycheck for them, and a waste of time for anyone else. If you actually pay for it, you deserve the disappointment you will receive.

He will look like an amateur compared to Floyd and be heavily outboxed, but McGregor was an All-Irish boxing champion in the Youth sector. If he does heavy preparation leading up to the fight, he'll be at least decent and not look like a complete fool that never boxed before.
That said, even world-class guys looked like chumps when facing Floyd, so the obvious difference in skill will be brutal.

The Broner fight was a close one last week.

Thurman and Garcia coming up 2 weekends from now. I want to watch that. I don't think it's hard to choose Thurman, but I love Garcia fights. He's always delivered a good fight when he fights real competition. He has always surprised as an underdog, but I dunno about this time.

Did anyone watch the Haye-Bellew fight just now? Haye seemed to have ruptured his achilles heel in the middle of the fight and still fought til the 11th round, crazy.

First round was exciting. The next 11 were all very close and almost boring. Thurman with the edge but not enough of an edge to take the 12th round off. It looked like a couple of boxers who are on the cusp of being great but not willing to take the risk.

excellent take. I thought it was going to be epic after the first. But both fought very safe and cautious the rest of the way. I think Pacquiao is still the best welterweight, with Spence ready to take over the division.

It was a very interesting fight -- constant KO bombs -- lots of intrigue with the major injury to Haye. I can't believe Haye fought 5 rounds after blowing his Achilles -- most can't walk after such an injury.

    The fight...

Man, I'm such a scrub. I flew to Vegas this past weekend with plans to set aside time away from the casino to watch the Thurman/Garcia fight at least. Aaaaand, totally forgot about the time difference for events. So when it was about time to tune in, I saw the result pop up on my phone...

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/conor-...mayweather-and-shock-the-world-030331870.html

“You’re the boxing guy?” McGregor said to [Dan] Rafael, who like many reporters at the time was interviewing Top Rank’s Bob Arum.

When Rafael replied, “I’m the boxing guy,” McGregor went off.

“I’m the boxing guy,” he said. “Watch me take over boxing, trust me on that. No one in this boxing game knows what’s coming. Trust me on that. I’m going to step in there and shock the whole ******* world. Trust me on that.

“Look me in the eyes, 28 years of age, confident as an [expletive], long, rangy, dangerous with every hand. Trust me, I’m going to stop Floyd and you’re all going to eat your words. The whole world is going to eat their words.”

Someone asked McGregor when the fight would happen. Without averting his gaze at Rafael, McGregor said, “It’s getting close. Don’t worry about it. You’ll hear about it. I’m out of here.”
