    is highly questionable.

Along with horrible substitution patterns, and the most predictable offense ever with Dallas completely reading almost every Rocket's play and thereby covering the passing lanes, this gave the Rockets about a 0% chance to win in Dallas.

This is a young team, so I must be patient, but... this team will drive me crazy regardless so every once in a while please allow for my whining.

Although this team is young, I really wonder what was going through Rudy's head today. I've looked past the past questionable calls, but today...

    Moochie
    12 crucial minutes
    1st quarter
(3:26) [HOU] Hawkins Substitution replaced by Norris

    what he did:
(1:26) [HOU] Norris Jump Shot: Missed
(10:19) [HOU] Norris Foul: Shooting (1 PF)
(9:53) [HOU] Norris Turnover: Bad Pass (1 TO) Steal: Nowitzki (2 ST)
    (8:42) [HOU] Norris Rebound (Off:0 Def:1)
(7:54) [HOU] Norris Jump Shot: Missed
(5:56) [HOU] Norris Foul: Personal (2 PF)
along with a few more bad decisions, and horrid defense
and stayed in the game until

    2nd quarter
(5:43) [HOU] Norris Substitution replaced by Posey

    Terrence Morris
(3:05) [HOU] Ming Substitution replaced by Morris

    What he did
(2:15) [HOU] Morris Violation: Defensive Goaltending
(2:01) [HOU] Morris Turnover: Bad Pass (1 TO) Steal: Nowitzki (1 ST)
(0:30) [HOU 27-30] Morris Jump Shot: Made (2 PTS) Assist: Francis (1 AST)
(11:09) [HOU] Morris Foul: Shooting (1 PF)
(9:18) [HOU] Morris Turnover: Bad Pass (2 TO) Steal: Nowitzki (3 ST)
(7:14) [HOU] Morris Foul: Personal (2 PF)
    (6:29) [HOU] Morris Rebound (Off:0 Def:1)

which doesn't include one botched defensive rebound
(9:44) [DAL] Van Exel Jump Shot: Missed
    (9:42) [DAL] Team Rebound
    , so 3 TO's

    and wasn't benched until
(6:27) [HOU] Morris Substitution replaced by Taylor

in all fairness, Moochie was worse in my opinion due to his defense and he didn't hit a shot.

    Here's Nachbar
In at the beginning of the 2nd

    here's what he did

(10:49) [HOU 29-34] Nachbar Driving Layup: Made (2 PTS)
only 2pts in the last half of the 2nd quarter
(8:14) [HOU] Nachbar Foul: Personal (1 PF)
    (7:52) [HOU] Nachbar Rebound (Off:1 Def:0)
    (7:28) [HOU] Nachbar Rebound (Off:1 Def:1)
(7:25) [HOU] Nachbar Turnover: Bad Pass (1 TO) Steal: Finley (1 ST)

was at least better than the two above, but not much.

    he came out at:
(7:14) [HOU] Nachbar Substitution replaced by Ming

Hawkins played some in the first, but heres him in the 2nd
(10:25) [HOU] Hawkins Reverse Layup: Missed
    (10:02) [HOU] Hawkins Rebound (Off:1 Def:0)
    until
(10:00) [HOU] Hawkins Substitution replaced by Mobley

    wasn't bad...

    but the point is
    2/5 fg by the above
    5 fouls
    4 TO's
+ 1 uncounted Tmo TO on the defensive rebound slip
on (9:44) [DAL] Van Exel Jump Shot: Missed
    (9:42) [DAL] Team Rebound
    + 1 defensive goaltending
    = +4 pts
    - 2(def goaltending) - 8pts on TO's - 7 pts on fouls
    = -13 pts
    boards = 5 collectively.

    complete momentum killer.

The worst part is, that this was allowed to go on for 4 minutes as a unit, and separately around 10 min for Moochie, 10 min for Morris, 5 min for Nachbar, 3 min for Hawkins.

The end of the 1st to the 5 min mark of the 2nd killed the Rox. We came back down alot in the first to down three at the end, then Rudy puts in the whole bench minus Francis, and then Mobley 3 min into it to cause a breakdown from which we never recover.

My roomate who isn't even such a fanatic as I was even thinking about sending an email for the halftime question saying, "I know Rudy is great, but what kind of crack has he been smoking lately?"

I'm incredibly frustrated at the coaching/inexperience of this team, because it could be so much better with what we have.

Although last year sucked, I knew that we had a valid excuse and we played the best we could.

Now we have what we need, but strangely enough our system seems to not utilize our talents.

Even so, we had a chance at this game.......................

Until the 2nd quarter that is.

Copy and paste this into the Game Thread.

Game-specific discussions should go in the game thread.

    Thanks.
