A huge problem with an easy answer. Put only the coaches and the next 3 guys up in the dugout. As guys bat, move another guy in. Pretty simple. Everyone else in the bleachers (expanded dugout).

The thing that gets me is that the players/coaches dont take the initiative to do something like this on their own. Do they have to have enforcement personal on site and a MLB mandate to do what is f#cking common sense?

Neither the union or the owners seemed tobe negotiating with any level of common sense. Who knows why the bubble got thrown out. Considering how the schedule was setup it should have been 3 locations. The West divisions in one location, central in another, and the east divisions in another place. Who needs logic... instead lets have these guys fly all over the country, stay at different hotels, and eat at different places all over. What could possibly go wrong?

Manfred blaming the players for this disastrous MLB season thus far is like Cody Bellinger blaming Correa for his .114 career World Series batting average.

One positive is if Manfred is ousted, it would be somewhat worth it.

Manfred isn't the one with COVID-19. There is some bad luck in getting COVID-19, but an entire team getting it bad isn't following protocols.

Absolutely, there are all kinds of answers and to your point the teams couldve insituted protocols themselves to avoid this if no one else was going to.

Clevinger getting lit up makes me happy.

He has given up 2 HRs an 4 runs so far with 1 out in the 2nd.

MLB, do you like your anti-trust exemption? Do you really now?

OK, now you have an independent Commissioner appointed by a panel of federal judges.

The worst thing that ever happened to MLB was Bart Giamatti's death.

Not perfect, but players have shown they aren't capable of controlling themselves and it looks like teams are enforcing it either.

After Tucker scored last night, almost everyone in dugout gave him a fist bump while not wearing masks.

Basketball players, football players, baseball players... all of these players are going to fit the same category.

They're rich, young, they feel invincible, they've got a lot of extracurricular activities available to them on any given day, they've got family/freinds/staff that rely on them for support and/or to handle problems/issues, and they've always done whatever they want to do.

Maybe some guys getting it (like Harden/Russ) can help set the example for other players to stay safe... but in many ways, being in a bubble and not seeing the true extent of what's going on can also create a false sense of security, which then leads to not adhering to certain restrictions. I imagine the same feeling is happening in baseball dugouts/clubhouses where this sanctuary has been "impenetrable" in the minds of players.

In the end, its a case-study/experiment of sorts that the leagues will probably soon realize there is no perfect solution to.

Yep. As intake testing showed, not playing isn't safe either as these guys all have the same attitude. If they were in an environment that supported safe practices, I would expect the games to be safer. I am shocked that it doesn't appear the Astros have anyone enforcing protocols and that they actually have all the players going to the clubhouse.

Bubble is how you do it. Can’t depend on everyone to behave like you want them to. That’s why you have to put them in an environment where covid doesn’t exist.

Meanwhile across the Atlantic, Pulisic continues to show he is the greatest North American to play in the premiere league at such a young age.
Euroleagues are headed for their 4 month of uninterrupted play. Germany is considering bringing back fans and we can't even get a week of MLB sigh.

I think the NBA will pull through though.

I suppose Robert could have tried a bubble don't pretend the players aren't to blame.
Don't pretend the players didn't reject a bubble idea.
Don't pretend the players are doing everything right.
Don't pretend the players are social distancing.
Don't pretend the players are all wearing masks at all times.
Only difference for the players is no fans; otherwise they're acting business as usual.

Now they need babysitters I mean compliance officers to follow/enforce the rules.

IF and/or when your season gets canceled, blame your fellow players.
