Thanks for clutchfans. This site means so much to so many. Most users on new server was 906 on 04-26-2005 at 12:10 AM.
Damn...I remember back when the Rockets traded for Glen Rice, the server was bombarded with a whopping 215 people. I think that record stood until the Rockets got Yao... Now, 906? That would have turned the server into liquid goo back in the day...
Guy knows how to run a website, alright. Unlike some sunshine and daisies, crash-prone sites I could name.
I was wondering if it was possible to hit 1000 last night, we will most likely find out after we sweep Dallas.
Ahhh! Watch the jinxing lingo. I was wondering, what would be the most users this site could handle approximately with the current setup? You think you're gonna wanna upgrade soon, Clutch?
In addition to what has already been said, I wanted to add that I really enjoyed the "All Heart" graphic on the front page. I've been at this site since the 1997 playoffs and I ain't leavin soon.
From reading this quote in another thread, it looks like Clutch has a upgrade in mind for the future. I think the server has stood up very well all things considered. AFAIK, the 906 number was achieved while access for non-contributors was turned off....if so, then just imagine how many people would have been online at the same time if everyone that wanted to could get on.
No kidding, I couldn't imagine how many users there would have been. That's just insane. The current set up of the server stood up well to the 900+ users yesterday. It wasn't too noticably slow etc.
Speaking of that graphic, Clutch needs to call his lawyers cause this guy just jacked his image. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=16122&item=6528394420&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
i thought it would be fitting to post this in here rather than starting a new thread. yesterday on 103.3fm espn radio up here in dallas this site was given props for having the yao song. i'm sure that may have brought more visitors.
Thanks again Clutch and the Mods for kicking all the junk to the curb for the last 2 weeks that keep poping up..
Yeah Clutch, Thanks man. This is a special site. I've gotten full length games, learned about Rockets odds, met other Rockets fans to watch the game with, and a place to share my fanatical and inexplicable fascination with the Houston Rockets. I've also gotten quite a few laughs some at my expense, but mostly at others. Definitely worth far more then the measly $20 bucks i've donated. You're also a really good guy, and I think that shows to everyone. Ok, arse-licking complete.
Ah yes, I remember back in the days when I first joined how Clutch had to replace the vacuum tubes and make extra punchcards every time the San Diego Rockets appeared in the playoffs. But it was a definite step up from the Clutchfans Abacus.
