The Texas Linebacking corps just got stronger- Michael Williams Lindale (TX) position Weakside defensive end height 6-foot-4 weight 225 pounds 40-yard dash 4.6 seconds Bio Notes and Stats: Williams has seemingly come out of nowhere to become one of the Lone Star State's top prospects. A terrific athlete, Williams starts at wide receiver and linebacker for Lindale and is among the top athletes in East Texas.
Here is last year DB analysis from Hornfans.com- DEFENSIVE BACK Need for Class of 2001: After landing only 1 FS and 1 CB last year (although both were great), Texas needed bigger numbers, especially at CB, this year. CB Cedric Griffin CB Aaron Ross CB/S Michael Huff SS Rufus Harris SS Kendall Briles Grade: A Texas really landed exactly what they needed this year. Quality numbers at the CB position, including three tall very fast CB's in Griffin, Ross and Huff. Ross just took his first test in January, but most expect him to qualify. They also really needed a strong safety to take over for Greg Brown/Lee Jackson, and landed a big hitter in Rufus Harris and an athletic big winner in HS in Kendall Briles.
I'm not sure Briles played. Expect Ross, Griffin, or Huff to take Jammer's spot. Harris and Briles will be the back up safeties. Williams was thought to be an OU lean.
