http://chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/4710221.html If he can return to the player he was his first two years in the NFL, this could be a really nice pick up. Another veteran added for depth.
I'm a big fan of this move. I guess we couldn't get him to sign a 2 year deal, or you think we wanted 1? I'd think we'd take 2 years 1.7 mil for a young guy..
Good. We have another receiver and we didn't pay too much for him. Waiting for the inevitable "he's not a 10 time Pro Bowler, so this signing sucks" post(s).
Good signing. I still wouldn't mind picking up a WR in the draft if a good one is available, but Davis might be able to hold us over until next season.
IMO, unless they trade down from 10, I don't see it happening until late, maybe 2nd day. I think they'll go with Brown at 10 and DB help in the 3rd. Maybe we'll get lucky and find another Michael Colston.
Please tell me what about this says ANYThing resembling Eric Moulds? Not that that should be a huge putdown or anything. But still, how does Davis = Moulds in any way? If you're gonna say something that makes no sense like that, at least learn to spell.. (unless you're trying to make some Purpura is fat joke, but I don't think that'd fit in this thread)
? is there sarcasm in this comment? I don't see how it was a wasted signing because right now the wide reciever depth chart is looking like AJ, Walters, then pretty much ?, and ?, and ? Is there another player out in free agency that could make a recieving impact or did you expect them to take 3-4 recievers in the draft to fill out the rest of the depth chart? I just don't get the rolleyes.
We might get lucky and find a Michael Colston but the odds of us playing him would be really slim. For some reason alot of coaches still inject politics of playing time with rookie draft picks. If your not a first or second rounder, you probably wont get to play. Then again we are the Texans and every position should be up for grabs... Eitherway coaches can be very arrogant.
We would only be so lucky. You do realize that the only "wasting" that happened last year was Carr's inability to deliver to a strong receiving tandem, right? The only "waisting" problem in Houston was the Bonzi Wells signing. Evan
I have to disagree, Kubiak started Spencer at left tackle (easily one of the hardest positions to play in the NFL) and Daniels at TE. Spencer was a 3rd Rounder while Daniels was a 4th or 5th. Like you said, every position should be up for grabs and we aren't really in a position to play politics.
