I wasn't suggesting Swearinger was consequential. I suggested they may use that situation as a way to illustrate B'OB's no-nonsense nature and the consequences that could befall the rookies and bubble guys that the show always follows. And I know the show usually doesn't follow the stars a lot, but I was thinking they might change in this case because JJ is so beloved by women. And that's a demographic that Hard Knocks probably feels they could expand viewership some, since football is primarily a guy sport.
Yep... most GM's do have a pretty big role on Hard Knocks. Mike Tannenbaum (Jets old GM) had a huge role during their season of Hard Knocks as they were trying to end the Revis hold-out the whole time. Last year, Dimitrioff also had a big role. Then again, both those guys had more "defined" GM positions than what Rick Smith has. Likewise, the Bengals and Cowboys GM's were also the owners (which implies they're going to call some major shots). I do expect him to be involved in making the cut list, but its usually the coach that actually delivers the news. In the end, the front office/ownership aspect of Hard Knocks is almost as intriguing as following the players.
Gotcha. Yeah, I think to feature it in anyway would require the Texans to expose some of the dirty laundry, and I don't think there's any chance they'll do it. But BOB will undoubtedly be a giant focus on the show. Yeah, true. Grantland had a similiar take, that Watt's clean professionalism would represent a perfect showcase for the NFL still trying to dig its way out from under several recent PR nightmares.
I heard the Texans have final veto privilege for anything in the show they don't want to air... hell, they could put out a bunch of mis-information if they really wanted to (not that any team actually thinks they could get a competitive edge by watching Hard Knocks....)
I watch every season, I've seen them all. The only season that I couldn't really get into was last year with The Falcons, It was soooo damn boring. I think I watched 3 episodes, and gave up. It's really cool that The Texans are on it now, I've been hoping it would happen for a long time.
McNair wanted this previously, but Kubiak didn't want the distraction. That's cool if the team is winning, but when you're not, it just makes you look weak. Yep, that sums up Gary.... mentally weak. So f***** glad that era is over!!!
Hopefully it's just JJ tackling everything - players, cameramen, fans - anything human. Also with yakety sax playing in the background.

Awesome. I knew they've find a way to incorporate that priceless footage of JJ walking down those steps from last year's season.
Yeah, thanks to Wade Kubiak was a sub .500 coach. I don't consider beating the Bengals, then losing the following round as "winning". Hopefully you don't either, but to each his own.
