The Texans and first-round pick Dunta Robinson have reached a verbal agreement on a multiyear contract, a league source told the Houston Chronicle today.

The deal with Robinson, a cornerback from South Carolina taken with the 10th overall selection, is for six years and is voidable to five years if certain playing-time incentives are met. The total worth of the contract is $10.7 million.

An official announcement by the Texans is expected Friday.

Robinson, who will play right cornerback opposite Aaron Glenn, becomes the sixth of the Texans' nine draft picks from April's draft to reach contract agreements. The Texans are the first team with a top-10 selection to agree on a deal.

Houston also was the first NFL team to sign a first-round pick, agreeing to a six-year, $7 million deal with linebacker Jason Babin. Babin was taken No. 27 overall. That deal is also voidable after five years.

The Texans have three unsigned players: safety Glenn Earl, cornerback Vontez Duff and linebacker Charlie Anderson.

It's good to know that there won't be any delays in getting Dunta into camp. It's amazing how easily the Texans seem to get their draft picks signed and in camp on time. Still have not had a hold out. I think I also heard that Charlie Anderson is close to signing. I'm sure that Duff and Earl aren't far behind.

    Is it football season yet?

Isn't Robinson one of the first, first round picks to sign??

Babin is already signed too right?

Babin was the first to sign. Robinson is the first from the top 10 to sign.

    That is so awesome.

Texans management must be doing a good job selling their picks on the importance of being at training camp on time.

The Texans have gotten every draft pick signed before training camp the last two years. No small feat considering they had like twice as many picks their first year. Kudos to the front office and the best owner in the league Bob McNair!!!! No lets play some football and get this Astro taste out of my mouth!!!
