What's your pick? Seems like easy money to me. My opinion is between 9 and 11 games, so it's an easy OVER bet...with an outside chance at a push at 8. Which would suck, but at least it's not a loss. (I won a good amount last year OVER 7.5... I upped the ante this year)
For the record, I'm NOT a Texans fan. I like the team -- I'm a Houston native -- but just not a fan. I mention that because I think the Texans will do really well this upcoming season. 10-6 seems reasonable, 9-7 almost assured. The division got worse, and the team got better. Texans fans, enjoy this season.
I'm not happy about it, but I'm going with PUSH. Until they prove otherwise, I'm forced to assume mediocrity. Please...prove me wrong!
I think they are putting way too much money on Schaub actually surviving the season. If Schaub stays healthy, they win 10 games. If not, its not going to be pretty.
I have a strong feeling about this team and with an easier potential schedule it could be a fun winter BUT like the poster before me I have to see this team break the 8-8 wall down before I go all in...saying that Il go 9-7 and battling for a spot in the playoffs on the last Sunday of the season. Titans and Colts are still good to really good although Haynesworth's loss will be exploited and so will Dungy's departure.
What makes you say that? Every team is banking on its starting QB to be healthy, most teams don't have an ex-starter as the backup. Not that I trust Rex Grossman in any way, but he's better than what's on most NFL benches, although he is likely to dwarf the Rosencopter should he start a handful of games. Assuming some modicum of good luck with injuries, I saw 10-6 is realistic, 11-5 attainable. The team is better, we're playing the NFC West and Smith is no longer in charge of the defense, that looks good to me.
Let's hope that Houstonians get a break and the Texans can remain healthy. If so, I think we'll win 11 games. This is the year Kubiak finally gets over the hump. Challenging plays & clock management was horrid last season. I think he has learned from his mistakes (knock on wood).
If they win 8 games again I think Kubiak is gone. He took over a team that was rock bottom in talent but McNair is getting impatient.
Over...Not sure if this is the year they actually get to the playoffs, but I'm still predicting 10-6.
Over probably 9-7, maybe 10-6 if our rookies develop quickly and Steve Slaton shows progress from last year.
