Seems to me like Batch would be far inferior to Graham as a mentor QB for David Carr. Shouldn't that be the main concern when signing a temporary QB like Batch?
Graham must be playing awfully bad for them to be considering another QB. I'm for anything that makes this team a winner (playoffs?) right from the start. Houston has suffered long enough.
Bob -- my understanding is that it's not only that he's looked bad...but that he doesn't seem to care at all that he's looked bad. I would say that, at this point, it's more likely David Carr is the opening day starter than anyone else...and I'd say that's a good thing.
Playing badly is one thing, but not caring? $750,000 to a plyer who doesn't care? Where did you here this MM? Link?
What's wrong with Batch? It's not like he thinks this would be a permanent situation. I think he knows it would only be a one year deal. I want this team to win, but I don't mind being dead last in the first year because it means we get the #1 pick again. At the same time, I don't want a total loser like Grahm rubbing off his loser habits on Carr. Batch is a better option than Grahm, and I think he would probably have a good year so that he can get a nice contract from another team after this season is over.
bob -- i thought it was in the chronicle article....but now i'm pretty convinced i didn't read it...but instead, heard it from the afternoon guys on 610 AM....honestly, i don't remember...but whatever it was it questioned his commitment.
