Not a James Allen fan, but I'm happy with the contract. Apparently the Texans don't think he's anything more than a temporary filler as well. Haven, if serious rb talent falls to the Texans in the draft, I doubt they'll pass it up. Now they just need a decent starting qb for this year ...
Found this. Its his game by game stats of every game in his NFL career: http://www.football-reference.com/games/GrocCl00.htm Looks like he's pretty good at catching passes out of the backfield
46 Clif Groce RB Date of Birth: 7/30/72 College: Texas A&M HT: 5-11 WT: 245 NFL Seasons: 5 Signed by Indianapolis in 1995. Claimed from New England off waivers in 1998. SCOUTING REPORT As a good blocker, he gets low, has good lift and can drive people out of the hole. He can also continue on to the secondary. He has good hands, runs well after the catch and fights for extra yardage. He doesn't get many opportunities to run with the ball, though.
i like how many of the free agents come to houston to be close to their hometown. hopefully future free agents will do the same.
