    Right - they only had two years where they were in that class. One year, they lost to the Patriots. The other year, they lost to Baltimore when they had TJ Yates as their QB to complete the season-ending tailspin. Baltimore won the SB the next year, and the Patriots were winning superbowls all the time.

    But we're talking about the team the GM built, which had Schaub in the lineup. You can't control for injuries.

    Can’t help but think it is something like this or some other “non-football personnel” related issue. Don’t think anyone was particularly excited about the off-season but can’t see McNair making this decision a week and half into OTAs. For those saying this is BoB pushing Gaine out, don't forget how information was "leaked" about BoB and Rick Smith's relationship. On the other hand, this was completely out of the blue and I think we would've heard rumblings about discord, friction, etc...beforehand.

    You can draft a young QB to replace Schaub.

    Kubiak was more responsible for choosing/retaining Schaub than any GM... in fact, pretty sure Kubiak was the defacto GM in 2006 when they traded for him.

    Once you know the nature of something don't be surprised when it acts in it's character.

    That said this franchise has been DYSFUNCTIONAL from it's inception and it all starts at the top!!!

    They might not have been good, but they weren't dysfunctional. Bob McNair gave a pretty long leash to his coaches and GMs.
