Which big names may be made available to the Texans? My guess is you'll see some QBs out there. Flutie, Bledsoe are possibities becuase of age and pricetag. RBs can't see any potentially good ones here OL probably get some good depth here, but not starter quality. WR Terry Glenn if he's not a FA Albert Connell
I can't think of a worse way to start a team than having Connell and Teresa Glen. Better off with less talented team guys and younger guys who may initially suck but develop into decent players. The Cowboys cut Jimmy Smith after all (ugh).
Fred Taylor? He's a great talent, but he gets injured every year, almost like clockwork. We need someone more durable.
Yeah, but if he only makes $800,000 a year, you'd be foolish to pass him up. ESPN the Magazine had an interesting take on who the Texans should take. I didn't realize that around $26 million of the Texans cap had to be used on expansion draft players. Among the players they had us taking: Charlie Batch Terry Glenn Terry Jackson Stockar McDougle Darrin Chiaverini Amos Zereoue Reggie McGrew I wouldn't be too upset with getting those players. Zereoue would be a steal, IMO. I'd really love for Plummer to be made available, but I don't think he will.
yeah, they have to use 38% of their cap, which is ridiculous because it ensures 38% of their roster will be has-beens, throw-aways, never weres...
I'd be happy with the last 5 guys on that list though. Hell, if Terry Glenn could shut up and play (yeah, right), he'd be a great pickup as well. Even Batch wouldn't be bad, I've always thought there was something to be said for changing locales...maybe that would do both him and Glenn good. Or maybe I'm crazy.
