According to a very reliable source from a Suns' Board (the same guy that broke the Shaq and J-Rich trades before they were revealed to the public). Link should be coming soon.
so much for firing the run n gun coach and trading the best player for that system in marion for shaq. Maybe they can sign Van Gundy he likes big men
With all due respect to Terry Porter, has anybody heard him speak? He sounds like an old, retired boxer.
wow that is downright terrible they fired him...not that i think he was doing a good job but not even a full year, i dont know what keerr was thinking in the first place when he made a lot of these moves. he should have kept d'antoni and never traded for shaq...at the very least he would have an entertaining team that would allow sarver to see more revenue from attendance and all. right now i dont think there are a lot of people who are caring for the suns right now
Well someone on this board a few days ago said that either Porter or Nash would go. Looks like he could be right.
Did Kerr really make all those moves? Or was he asked to? Was he asked to take the fall so someone else didn't look bad because the moves were risky?
this will get intereting. if the new coach demotes shaq's role in the offense will shaq's foot problems return?
If true, this is significant... could impact the entire direction of the trade deadline movement. I think a lot of talks currently hinge on what Phoenix is going to do.
Steve Kerr couldn't possibly fire Terry Porter; not with a straight face, or looking him in the eyes? "Uh, we're going in a new direction, Terry." "Are you serious?! I'm fired?!" "I'm afraid so, I'm sorry." (still not looking him in the eyes) "Mo--erf--c-er, THIS IS YOUR FAULT! And YOU'RE firing ME?!?!?!"
Doesn't a midseason firing by a team in playoff contention usually mean they're "going for it"? If they're thinking of blowing it up, the offseason would be the best time for an overhaul...though a coaching change and a key trade in the same week wouldn't be unheard of.
