Most likely perpetrated by Islamist militants; carried in the name and for the sake of Islam.

This attack occurred in the state of North Sinai - in close proximity to our ally Israel. These are organized groups of people with a clear source of rhetorical and political motivation. I think now more than ever, the US needs to pivot away from certain Middle East countries, such as Iraq and Saudi Arabia, and focus more on Egypt, Israel, Jordan, and Lebanon.

235 dead being reported as of now. It was a Sufi mosque. Followers of this sect of Islam are about as peaceful as they come. Two bombs exploded and these asshole terrorists were waiting to ambush helpers and victims outside with guns. Can't even begin to comprehend the level of brainwashing it would take to think something like this would be okay with whatever god you believe in.

Sad that no one cares about this in USA. If this attack took place in a Western nation it'd be all over the news. Horrific.

    For sure.

I was in Cairo for the first time this year. I was taken on a tour of one of the mosques there. The guy was pointing out the roof tiles saying they used to be gold. They were taken out and stolen in the last 10-15 years. There was also damage in several spots from an earthquake that had never been repaired.

Overall the city was in a bad state. I was also told tourism was down. A taxi driver told me the trips he made to the airport were at 20-30% of what they used to be.

    Terrorism for the win.

    Trump cares!

How stupid does one have to be? How does a wall with Mexico impact Islamic Extremists again?

Honestly as long as it was only Muslims being killed, I think the usual loudest voices really wouldn't care that much.

When the Orlando shooter shot up a gay club, the hardliners either invented fantasies that it wasn't really a gay club, or went through mental gymnastics to explain how their gayness didn't count in that instance.

Trump wants to prevent this from happening here in the US. What a terrible person Trump is.

Regardless of topic it will consistently get derailed by the un-American Trump haters.

And again, this f****in clown uses terror on foreign grounds to politicize but goes silent when mass shootings happen in his own country.

Sad to see morons still supporting this puppet backed by NRA and billionaires.

For obvious reasons, it would make a bigger splash.

Gun laws in Egypt are very strict, you have to provide detailed information on your relatives of first, second, and third degrees. Your security file must be clean, and you must provide proof of ownership of a piece of land or a commercial property, which you intend to protect using the firearms. How can such a horrific act happen?

No, the hardliners invented fantasies where the terrorist was a closet homosexual and sought to blame the shooting on groups that resisted certain tranny legislation while everyone else tried to talk sense into them. I know it's been a while now, but you can't have forgotten already.
