http://www.csnhouston.com/basketball-houston-rockets/talk/rockets-send-jones-d-league Kentucky University fans must be angry now with both Patrick and Jones away.
How far away is being "sent down?" It's getting a little annoying at how often our rookies travel back and forth from the Dleague to the NBA but it might be easier than it sounds.
This is stupid. With Patterson out, Jones should be playing. He's as ready as any other young player. McHale is old school, following the tradition of his 80s Celtics teams. If you're a rookie, you don't play -- period. Make the bench your friend.
Going back and forth is probably much better than going down there and staying. It's only around 300 miles.Shorter than traveling to play a road game.I think its' all good, they get to play with the Vipers and still keep a familiarity with what's going on with the Rockets.
Better to beast on the D-League then to rot on the Rockets bench. Honest, I sort of wished they would send Motiejunas so that he can get more NBA like experience that it offers.
Well, last game D-Mo was amazing. 4 minutes, 3 points, a steal, a block, a rebound, 2 tipped balls on defense and a hard charge taken at the basket.
To be fair, Jones has struggled everytime he's touched the floor in garbage time. He would probably lead Houston in airballs with all those wayward 3's he jacks up. It does seem that Morey is rotating the rookies.
No, Parsons played heavy minutes as a rookie. McHale will play them when they are ready. I have no problems with sending the rookies back and forth between the teams. They get some practice time with the Rockets and get some playing time with the Vipers.
I think McHale isn't using any of our rookies because with the current game plan, the guy filling in for Patterson has to be able to spread the floor. Unfortunately neither Jones nor Motiejunas have a reliable 3pt shot. Hence the use of Morris/Delfino.
Mann, the heat okc game is gonna cut off like the first quarter of the rox bulls game, stupid flagrant foul reviewing
