Basically, if you want to go to the finals, come to Texas or play for the Lakers.:)

None of the western conference teams would have won if Jordan hadn't retired

BUT MJ did play in '02 and '03 so I can argue that the Lakers and Spurs both have at least one legit ring right?

Or do they not count since MJ wasn't in the finals?

For Western Conference representation, those 3 plus our Rockets are the only teams since 1979.

Obviously, if MJ comes out of retirement and fails to make it to the Finals, the rings still aren't legit.

Any organized basketball game prior to June17,1991 and after the 1998* finals does not count.

    excluding '94 and '95

He probably was thinking about winning, not just reaching. Still would make for an impressively short list. Of course most of it is the Lakers.

at the end of the day..rest of these teams are not going to win anything in the near future. i mean 13 freaking years..and only the same 3 teams made it.

how long is it going to take the rockets? 10 years?
