Here's the scoop. Grant Hill has agreed to
join the Magic. According to reports Tim Duncan had a meeting
with Greg Popovich, in which he informed the Spurs that he
intended to join the Magic. Tracy McGrady informed the Magic
yesterday that he wants to be in Central Florida too. The jist of the
deals as I understand them, each will sign a $7 million deal in order
to fit them all under the cap. Both Duncan and Hill will be given 4th
year options to become free agents. The Spurs allegedly told
Duncan they intended to have the league investigate the Magic,
charging them with tampering. The Chicago Bulls have also said
they intend to explore the Magic's actions, and are accusing them of
tampering. If the league rules in favor of the charging teams, deals
with those players could be voided, and the Magic could be
penalized up to $1 million per player, and have to forfeit a 1st round
draft pick for each player, as a maximum penalty. Tracy McGrady
said he will still make the trip to Chicago out of courtesy, he is also
scheduled to toss out the first pitch of a White Sox-Cubs game. The
Magic are now expected to renounce everyone but Bo Outlaw and
Ben Wallace, this may clear upwards of $22 million in capspace.
There is talk that the Magic would agree to a sign and trade
package with the Raptors possibly sending Ron Mercer and Matt
Harpring to the Raptors along with a 1st rounder in 2001.

That clears up the cap space problems (each taking 7 million)......It was clear that the magic had no intention of offering the max to mcgrady, grant will sacrifice that much for a ring, and timmy will be in this dynasty with grant hill and tracy mcgrady....how can he resist?? especially after what popovich did.......in another article, i read that popovich accused Timmy of cheating and lying and bein tampered with....nt helping them at all......popovich is off to se grant hill about signing, but even though he said he'd take less oney, why should he if he doesn't have to??

but i was wondering, if they're using up ALL the money for these guys, then where do they get money for a PG and where do they get money to re-sign Amaechi??
exceptions or something? and what do teh do with mike miller no that grant will be there?

send'em bryce drew for a first round pick next year. if they sent us the one they owe us and the bryce drew pick, our first round pick and milwalkee's...that's four first round pick's in a deep draft [IMG] that and the possibility of signing Rashard Lewis next season...WE WOULD ROCK [IMG]!!! and so would they, the magic, i don't know who they would use for a center, but Duncan at PF, Hill at SF, Mcgrady at SG and Drew at the PG. maybe Doleac or Outlaw at the 5. comets...Bo Outlaw can't play the 5 in the NBA. In the SWC sure but not here. He's only 6'8 and 210lbs.
