I had never even heard of GRRM prior to the Game of Throne series but since I've read the series of A Song of Ice and Fire series which I consider the best series of books that I have read to date. Since I don't know how long it will take GRRM to finish his series I'm planning on reading "Tales of Dunk and Egg" which to my knowledge is about Targaryen's during the time Measter Aemon was a boy. Sir Duncan the Tall and King Aegon V are the main charecters of the book and that's all I know. I'm curious if anyone else has read these books and what they think? Worth reading or not?
I haven't heard much about them, and apparently they are pretty rare and hard to find. What I have heard is that they aren't as 'dark' or realistic I guess as Game of Thrones. I wouldn't expect them to be as good as A Song of Ice and Fire, but I to plan to read them once I finish the series. I think there way shorter too.
Heres a lot more helpful information when you scroll down to short stories http://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.ph...ice-and-fire-including-complete-bibliography/
Not really. Trying to find them as stand alone works might be hard, but they appear in several different anthologies. "The Hedge Knight" and "The Sworn Sword" appear in "Legends" and "Legends II" respectively, both edited by Robert Silverberg. "The Mystery Knight" appears in "Warriors", edited by Martin himself. None are terrible expensive. You can get them through Amazon.
Yep, just found that out looking online. I was looking at the novels alone and they were like $70 each on Amazon.
Oh damn, this thread just got seriously high jacked by HP and his band of non-reader GoF series fans. Time to go post spoilers in HP's "Unsullied" thread!
