Seattle just resigned him to be their starter. There's still Blake, Frerotte, Grbac, Banks, Johnson, Graham, & Chandler as available veteran FA's. Brunell is available, I believe.

KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) - The Seattle Seahawks signed Trent Dilfer to a four-year contract and will make him their No. 1 quarterback heading into training camp.
"He's very excited. His goal was to get the chance to be the starter in Seattle," Mike Sullivan, Dilfer's agent, said Saturday. "He loves those guys up there and the opportunity to play with them again is fantastic."

The Seahawks reached agreement with Dilfer on Friday night. Coach and general manager Mike Holmgren planned to inform last year's starter Matt Hasselbeck of the news Saturday.

Holmgren traded for Hasselbeck last March and immediately made him the team's No. 1 quarterback. But Hasselbeck went 5-7 as a starter, throwing eight interceptions and seven touchdowns.

Dilfer, the starter on Baltimore's Super Bowl winning team in 2001, signed with the Seahawks last August and went 4-0 as a starter. He threw seven touchdowns and four interceptions and has won 15 straight starts.

"Trent earned the right to try and get this thing done," Holmgren told The News Tribune of Tacoma, which first reported the deal on its Web site Saturday. "The consistency at the quarterback position hasn't been what I've wanted the last three years, and even at that we were able to win nine games a couple of those years."

I heard somewhere that David Carrs bench and squat numbers are crazy for a quarterback. From the look of him, he looks like a strong guy. I dont think starting him right away would be good but he is the future of the team.
