LOL! They are all pumped up over this. One would think they just signed the greatest lineman in NFL history.

I've seen GARM being pumped up by less. Chiefs fans' reaction to the signing seems eerily similar to whenever the Texans make an impact signing, like last year with Joseph. Sports fans are the same no matter where they live.

The 4yr/$22mil price tag seems kind of low though. He actually takes a pretty sizable paycut here. I'm surprised the Texans couldn't match that. Either the Texans are really sour on him, or they think a hell of a lot of Butler.

It's right on par with what he was making with the Texans at $5.5 million for the season. The Texans think they have an adequate replacement in Butler, and needed his money to sign Myers.

They probably could have, seeing as that avg year price is cheaper than his texan's contract. It looks like they rated Myers the most important non-LT and had to adjust accordingly due to cap. Winston being paid $6m to be the 3rd most important lineman wasn't going to happen.

Between Myers new contract ($6.25m/year) and Winston's old contract ($6m year), they'd have been taking up a 1/10 of next year's cap.

Duane Brown is the looming monster that the texans are worried about.

He's an elite LT, and elite LT get paid big bucks. He'll probably make as much as Winston and Myers combined next year, so we really need to make space now. If is was just ths year, Winston would still be here, but we have to worry about next year's FA barrage also.

I really hope they reach an extension before the end of the year, that guy is top 2 maybe the best LT in the game. He didn't give up ANY sacks last year, that was with 3 different QB's one of them a 5th round rookie who scramble in the pocket.

Yup, one look at the GARM should tell you everything.

Glad he got to a team that desperately needed an RT. If the Chiefs play it right, he might actually be the oldest player at their OL at age 28.

Note to self; draft Chiefs runningbacks.

P.S. Do they have wingstops in KC?

He actually allowed 2.5 sacks last year (link), all of them of TJ Yates.

That's still incredible by comparison, Jake Long allowed 5.5 Sacks, Joe Staley 6, Joe Thomas 3.5, Russell Okung 5, and D'Brickashaw Ferguson 9.5.

Good move as Yates was the better QB.
