The way the Cowboys lost to Green Bay by not finishing their final offensive drive, spiking it on first down to kill the clock, etc. ... I totally blame Garrett and the coaching staff for that. They blew it.

Pete Carroll rubbed off on him a little...over thought the situation.

This was the biggest choke in NFL history.

See what happened to a Trump supporter! Brady will be so sick of winning just like Mr Trump.

Also, anybody remember the Falcons really dumb challenge on that miraculous (and but obviously clear) Edelman catch with like 2 minutes to go?

Gee, Falcons could've used that extra timeout when they got the ball back with 50 seconds left.

    Idiots.

Not sure if you can blame them. It was obvious after the replay but not real time.
I was at a party where a lot of them were football-illiterate and was the only one going crazy yelling after the sack going "THEY'RE OUT OF FIELD GOAL RANGE NOW WHAT THE F*CK!!!!!" and people weren't sure why I was going crazy.

The largest previous Superbowl comeback was 10 points. Patriots were down 25, late 3rd Quarter, and still won.

This is last year's Finals, except WITH Bogut and Draymond playing every game... then, CLE coming back down 1-3, and coming back down 20 points each 4th Quarter games 5-7.

Well lets see. (LONG POST warning)

The Bills were at HOME on their OWN field. Thats a favorable condition if you're trying to bounce back. Can say the home crowd & familiarity playing in the cold worked to their advantage (against a finesse warm weather domed/astroturf team). It turned more hostile against the Oilers. *Plus there was a BADLY MISSED ref call where receiver ran out of bounds on a critical long bomb by the Bills where you could put a semi-asterisk* on the game*

Super Bowl is neutral site. Its just your own decisions and nerves. Situation got hostile agaisnt Falcons but no other external element. Falcons didnt get "shook up" with panic per se, but they got boneheaded and unsettled at the wrong times. And Falcons still had chance to stop any of the two 2-point conversions but didnt.

Considering its the SUPER BOWL and not an early playoff game, the RAISED STAKES makes the choke more pronounced. But then an early round choke, ESPECIALLY when you are the SUPERIOR team, sends a humbling, despressing message that you are a FRAUD, getting EXPOSED as a pretender

What makes that Oilers choke SO BAD though, is it was against the Bills 2nd STRING QB. It wasnt their Hall of Fame QB bringing them back, it was a bench SCRUB. And the Oilers COLLAPSED SO much they actually lost the lead WELL before game was done and had to kick an FG just to TIE to get to OT to lose anyway. Oilers just completely stopped functioning in brain & organs, Falcons still showed functionality throughout.

I think if Oilers fans wanted to choke biggest lead in history of early round game, or choke biggest lead in history of Super Bowl, an early round choke powerfully punches you in the gut, a Super Bowl choke will drive you into alcoholism. Chris Weber timeout error in Sweet 16 game would be more forgotten than in the title game. Bill Buckner error worse in World Series, or in the 1st round?

So maybe SB choke ahead by a nose. Oilers was more dysfunctional, Falcons SB just more crushing.

It's the NFL. They have an army of dudes upstairs watching this stuff. You can absolutely blame them for that.

Do you remember how many times Kubiak pissed leads away while having Foster, who absolutely torched people in the 1st half, sit on his hands in the backfield?

I think the closest analogy would be the rockets v clippers game a couple years ago.

I would say it's more like coming back from 3-0 straight up. All 3 being blow out losses and the next four being close wins and the best player playing like Kobe in the '08 Finals for the first 3 games then like Lebron in the '16 Finals for the next 4.

3-1 comebacks have happened before. What NE did was unprecedented.

Clips-Rockets is a nice example though with the Game 6 comeback.

Sorry, but you are wrong. The national popular vote is completely and totally irrelevant when it comes to presidential elections and when it comes to football games. The only thing that maters is the points (or electoral votes) put up on the board.

C'mon man, you're better than this even if you are still upset.

Blowing a 30 point lead in the 4th of Game 7 at home, then losing in overtime.

i think it's on par with the Rockets being down to the Clippers in game 6 and coming back to win. It wasn't impossible but everything had to go right
