The Phoenix Suns are reportedly considering trading Leandro Barbosa and could even entertain trading Amare Stoudemire, according to a source.

Stoudemire has an early-termination option after the 2009-10 season and, if he doesn't exercise it, would be an unrestricted free agent seeking a max deal in 2011.

With Steve Kerr as the GM I would not be shocked if anyone is traded off that team.

I understand the threat of Amare leaving and how Barbosa's numbers are down. All the same, Shaq is about to turn 37, Nash 35 -- at the end of the day if you're the Suns and you DON'T have Amare or Barbosa what exactly do you have?

Whatever you got for Amare and Barbosa? :D

Say Rafer, Landry, Wafer, and T-Mac?

I don't see the point of trading Amare, unless the Suns get a younger and better franchise player.

that's a very small pool to choose from, and none of their teams would trade them for amare.

The ironic thing is that the player that would fit in this THIS YEAR's Phoenix team would be Shawn Marion. Marion for Stoudemire? Now that would be something.

Amare lacks the desire to play defense. FATAL FLAW for a guy his size. Now that he developed a jumper, he doesn't seem like he wants to attack the basket like he used to anymore.

I could actually see that happening. Marion + Beasley for Amare.

I don't really buy that excuse of Shaq clogging the lane. When he was playing with Kobe, Wade, and Penny, you never heard any of them complain about it and they were always able to attack the basket just fine.

Amare's main problem is Shaq and I'm surprised everyone doesn't see this. The two cannot co-exist and excel together over the course of a season. But I don't think there is any chance at all the Suns trade Amare. He's the only talented young player they have.

Superstar, Amare doesn't play anything like Kobe, Wade or Penny. With Shaq in the way, other low post options like Amare will have a rough time.

Mike D'Antoni was the best thing to ever happen to Barbosa. He can't prosper under Terry Porter's system. They definitely need to trade him IMO.

I could have sworn it was post defense. Really, it's the only reason Kerr even made that desperation move.

...I love seeing this team be destroyed. Next up Nelly's retirement and the Knicks lose out in 2010.

Amare will never be a franchise player like he wants to be, he just doesnt do it on both ends of the floor like Tim duncan or KG

Blamming Shaq for Amare's problems is bootsy. Great players don't make excuses like I can't play well because there's some fat guy clogging the lane.
