    one of the biggest underachievers i've ever seen play basketball. Stro is the poster-child for why giving guaranteed contracts to teenagers is a bad idea.

    We had Ryan Bowen. Our current riches of forwards started with Morey. Before that it was pretty grim.

    We already got one. Chicago made it official we got Asik for only 8 million to back up Duwight at eventual 33 million.

    The debate on the GARM that summer on whether the Rockets should sign him was awesome. Naturally, I was adamant against signing him and argued Stromile had no skills and zero improvement after 5 seasons in the NBA. There was no reason to think anything would change with the Rockets. Others chose the well-worn path of blaming his prior 3 coaches for not being patient enough with him and that JVG would make the difference. So many thought he was "talented" and "athletic", but when asked, couldn't name anything he was above-average at except vertical leaping. Some guys are just losers.

    I can't remember a more spirited debate on the GARM since then that didn't disintegrate into name-calling and personal attacks.

    Eh, we had more than Bowen. I think we had Taylor, Baker, Weatherspoon, Nachbar. But then again I'm no basketball buff
