What did you all think of Steve's defense last night? I, for one, thought it stunk. Not only did it routinely take Lowry ONE dribble to get around Mr. Franchise, but he also seemed lost, or just slow when making his rotations.
I'll give you that Steve did not play shut down defense. However, isn't part of good team D to funnel penetration into your bigs? I've got to say that from what I have seen Steve does a pretty good job playing team D.

Francis' career didn't start until the end of 1999. It was probably a few years after that that we realized he was The Matador.
You know those Spanish guys that hold up a red sheet in front of a bull, and then step out of the way as soon as the bull charges? Those are matadors. That is a perfect description of the defense Stevie was playing last night.
Are you saying you think all perimeter players should turn sideways and invite their man to drive into the paint? And that that's a good thing?
When your "bigs" are actually two smalls (Landry and Hayes), and one of them is an inexperienced rookie who has a ways to go on the defensive end, maybe a different strategy is warranted.
No reason to complain to the coach. He was experimenting, and I doubt we'll ever see that lineup together on the court in meaningful minutes. Battier was matched up against Mike Miller, not Gay. You should ask how T-Mac looked against Gay.
